    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello, Since no one has replied I will tell my story.  I decided to breed some rats to help out on the grocery bill. I started on a rack system and found Adam Block's ad on Kingsnake sipper tubes for $1.00 a piece. I e-mailed 2 times for availability and sent $50.00 Money Order Aug.10th (he said to allow 2 weeks after receipt of the money order). Labor Day Weekend I e-mailed for status of order(do not have this e-mail)He replied that I should receive order by the end of the week well no tubes. E-mailed again around the 7th or 8th of Sep I got reply the 11th                                                   (Sorry it took me so long to get back to you I've been having some troubles
with my email.  I think they were shipped but give me a day and I'll let you
know for sure.  Just to remind me what type did you get?

(Well, I am sorry for the trouble.  There was a delay in me even getting your
money order and that's been the hold up.  My wife thought that they were
already shipped to you and discarded your address.  I again very sorry for
the trouble, I can keep on top of the snake shipping but she handles
everything else and with three kids sometimes ends up forgetting or loosing
track.  Send your address again please and they'll go out today.

So after telling me twice they were shipped,he did not even have my address and it was my fault because the money order had been delayed supposedly. Well I sent my address again asking politely that he e-mail me when he shipped.Now it is the 21st and guess what no sipper tubes and he will not reply to e-mails all this BS for $50. So now my question is what should I do next?? Hope this all makes sense my typing can not keep up with my thoughts!

Well first off let me start by saying I am totally unfamilliar with this " Adam Block " person, but the first thing you should do you have already done and that is posting on the BOI to let other people know how this person does business.  I would like to see his side of the story and see what he has to say so you may want to email him and let him know you have posted about him and his business practices.  Honestly to lose sleep over $50 .... not me but money is money and it's good to know who not to send it to.  In my opinion the best watering system is made by freedom breeders and even if this does not work out you will still need a watering system for your rodents, and I guarantee you won't have this problem with them.  I wish you the best of luck .

    I think he IS probably reading your e-mails, so I would e-mail him and tell him that you had no choice but to post bad guy posts about him on every site you know of, he then maybe will in turn to save face contact you and make up another lame excuse, or go the other way and you are just out fifty bucks!   I would also e-mail him every day and remind him how unhappy you are.  We got our watering system from Bush Herpological, but they are no longer in business.
     My recommendation would be AGSelect their web address is www.agselect.com, and we have found that they are cheaper and better all around than Bush.  I have never dealt with freedom breeder, so I know nothing of them.

There are also fraud reports you can file...hopefully someone will post who knows of all these different avenues to take.  I know they are available but I don't know how to access them.  I know for sure you're not just stuck emailing him & hoping something happens.  In fact, I believe K-snake has a fraud dept.  maybe you could start there.

Don't forget mail fraud. It's illegal to use the u.s.p.s for fraudulent services. By his receiving the payment thru the p.o. he's accepted their terms of service as well. Email him, letting him know your giving him a week to make good on the delivery. Let him know that if you haven't received either a return payment or the products you purchased you'll be reporting him to his local police dept who will investigate and possibly turn him over to FBI for breaking federal laws. If after a week has gone by and no response contact his local police dept and give them his name address and phone number, letting them know he's obtaining money using the p.o under fraudelent purposes. Hello all, Thanks for information. I e-mailed Adam and told him I had posted on this forum to give him a chance to tell his side of the story(I would like to hear it also). I also gave him until next Sat. to get something done or I would file fraud charges. I wish he would just be an adult and fulfill his part of the deal. WHAT A JOKE!!  I endorse this forum and don't even read it.  I had to find out this was posted from a friend loaclly who called and told me.

First off, I never told you the delay was your fault.  I only mentioned there was a delay and you assume it was your fault when in fact it was mine.  You didn't mention the day you sent it and I don't check my PO Box unless there's a need.  By the Time you mentioned it 10 days (give or take) had gone by.  To be hoenst with you I've bitten off way more then I can chew right now and my main worry has been making sure my hatchlings are healthy and shipped healthy and alive.  Shipping those has been my main effort.  All things made harder with three kids two of them under 2 and planning for a 2000 mile cross country move.

In any event, I'm 100% to blame here and maybe I should just stick to snakes and leave the dry goods alone.  I live way the heck out and FedEx picks up, the post office doesn't.

As a side note, I've always said the BOI is a great thing and tell everybody to check it.  While I think it will tip you off to the Rainwaters of the world I doubt how useful it really is.  If you don't know the person being mention what good is what you have to say?  I think you may want to keep the gossip and opinions to yourself.  People love to talk about others and assume but that isn't a good thing when you don't know who or what you're talking about.

Thanks to all who know me and have done business with me for comments and to those of you that don't, oh well, take a guess right, it's only somebodies reputation.  I can see why so many of the known, quality breeders are against this board, guess it's time for me to join the ranks.
 
What known, quality breeders are against this board, and where have they declared this?  As always, I am not a snake person and not privy to the movements of the snake community, but I have not neard of any well known breeders (except the Dan Biffield and Stanley Whitt kind of well known) who have voiced opposition to this board.

I read and read and read....can you show me where anyone BESIDES Ken says anything bad about you?

The only thing that was remotely close to saying something bad about you is this

Everyone else and everything they have said so far was to offer advice on what steps he can take.  And to tell him they want to hear both sides of the story.

1.  You gotta show us the quotes or the forum in which they said this.
2.  I know a quite few QUALITY breeders who frequent this place.
3. I could go on and on but why....................

I read and read and read and still can't find where I said anybody said anything bad about me?  I never made mention of that.  See what I'm talking about with the assumptions?  I only said you shouldn't speak about people you don't know.  As for showing them what steps to take.  How do you know those step are warrented if you don't know both parties?

In any event, I'm in a group of breeders that focus on quality (not that others don't).  To keep that quality I don't do reptile shows, pet stores or allow visitors to my house.  It's not for me to mention the breeders that do or don't agree with this forum but you can see who does and doesn't post.  I sure know the flack I got for putting the BOI link on my site.  I'll even keep that link there as it seems to have some use if you're new to the hobby.

With that aside I guess I'm just not one to assume things.  I wouldn't ever post on a person I didn't know, it just isn't responcible.  This is time I find much better spent helping people in forums, caresheets and care info on the phone.

No, no, no.  You misunderstood, Adam.  I didn't say that you said anything about poeple speaking poorly of you, but instead I was asking who it was that you said spoke poorly of the BOI.  And just who is in this "Illuminati" of breeders?

Hey Uffern...he would rather not discuss the member of the iluminati.  I do not blame him.  I am the same way with a couple breedings I have going on here.  A lot of thngs go on behind the scenes to bring the world quality boas.
 
Adam realy don't mean to bash you here but you should have just left it at you screwed up you got overwelmed your sorry and ken will get his sipper tubes or a refund on such in such a date no excuses no attemps at justification. Anybody can make a mistake or get overwelmed but when it happens and your reputation is on the line the best thing to do is just admit your fault and try to make that customer happy. Ritchie, if people were not making a guess then why were they giving fraud info that isn't needed?  
In four years and thousands of snakes I've yet to have a post in here against me.  I'm not frauding anybody for $50 and it's foolish to assume so if you don't know me.

Uffern, what are you talking about elite group?  I've never heard of such a thing myself.  Breeders like Jim Kane, Myself, Walt Deptula and others in that Elaphe group have decided to focus on a quality that can't be had by people doing shows.  That's why I post in all of my adds that my snakes are 100% free of Mite and any other protizoa, you don't often see that.  If you have any questions please ask me and stop making assumptions.

Wow!  That one paragraph is just chock full of innuendoes and implications, now isn't it?

So there is some elite group of breeders, to which you have membership that are somehow above all the rest of us peons? And obviously this is a secret society, no doubt, since none of the rest of us know whom you are talking about.

And how is it that doing reptile shows, or selling to pet shops, or allowing people to visit your home is some sort of indication of the quality of the animals you are working with?  I would certainly be interested to hear how you made that huge leap in logic.  I know LOTS of people whom do the reptile shows, and am certainly surprised to learn that this fact is a public indicator of their lacking in quality.  As I am sure they will be surprised to learn as well.

Is this something YOU alone know, and, perhaps, that secret society you are a member of, or is it something that I missed somehow that is widely known in the industry?

And you infer that anyone whom does not post here MUST be against what this board is for.  Again, another blazing display of a leap in logic.  I would think I would be bombarded with emails saying such things to me by all of those people against this board.  And when I do the reptile shows (thereby displaying my complete lack of quality), they would be further lambasting me with much distain at my running such a message board in the first place.  Certainly, all of these big names in the industry can't ALL be that shy, now can they?

And lastly, you claim by inference that this board is *only* of some use to someone new to the hobby.  Well what an eye opener THAT one is!  So tell me, how long does someone have to be in this business before they know everyone and never get screwed by someone else in the business that might have been prevented if they had a source to find out about them?

It looks to me that someone called you out about a problem and did it here in public.  That certainly got your attention, now didn't it?  So tell me, was this effective in getting the problem resolved or are you still going to drag your feet about filling the order that caused this thread in the first place?

Was there a problem, or wasn't it?  Is it now going to be resolved, or won't it?  If it is going to finally be resolved, then what was the catalyst to make this happen?

Sounds like an insult to the many breeder/vendors that I have met attending herp shows all over the mid-west (including myself). I am a customer of yours, and I recieved service very much like Kens. I did not post on here, instead I e-mailed Ken and told him that you are a good guy and he should be patient because you do not budget your time or responsibilities very well. If you recieve someones money for a product, you should give them much better service. That is a fact. If you don't like the comments people make about you on this forum, you only have yourself to blame.
