I'd like to recommend Adam Jessien of Georgia as a wonderful gecko breeder to work with. My daughter got a Phelsuma pasteuri gecko from him last year after he took plenty of time to explain the kind of habitat it needed, the correct temperatures to keep the enclosure at, and the kinds of food that would be best suited for it. The gecko arrived overnight, safely and healthy.
It was a young gecko that had not laid any eggs yet. When the gecko laid eggs the first time, we noticed it laid 3. That's a lot for a tiny gecko! Then it laid 3 eggs a second time only 2 months later. Unfortunately, the gecko became egg impacted (to our best guess, since we provided it with meticulous care
), and did not survive.
When we noticed the gecko not wanting to eat or drink we contacted Adam and he was very helpful in trying to diagnose her. He's not a breeder that abandons his clients when they have questions and is always eager to assist with answers.
We decided that we wanted another gecko and tuned to Adam as our first choice for our purchase. He gave us a choice of another P pasteuri or Gold Dust gecko. Rather than wait for the P pasteuri gecko to hatch and grow large enough to be shipped, we opted for a young Gold Dust gecko. To our wonderful surprise, Adam honored our request and said that in good faith he would not charge us the full purchase price for this gecko and would be responsible only for the shipping costs, since he felt we had done everything we could to provide proper care for the first gecko we received from him.
THAT is amazing customer service and shows such unexpected generosity. He has also been extremely helpful in recommending sources from which to purchase gecko food and explaining any habits particular to the geckos he sells. I highly recommend Adam Jessien as a gecko breeder and would work with him again in the future.
