In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Alright I did some searching but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I want to get another ball but my local store only has small newly hatched ones. I have had my first one for about two years now and its about two feet. I was wondering if it would be a problem to add a much smaller ball to the cage? My snake has not shown one sign of aggression since the day I got it. What do you all think?

get another cage

It is not a matter of aggression. Balls aren't usually aggressive snakes. It's kind of like saying my dog is good with people, he'll be good with dogs even though he's never met one. Some are fine, some are terrors, but you can't judge that by how they act with people. Not as often as say corn snakes, but if your bigger snake becomes stressed by a roommate he can eat the little guy. Or crush him by sitting on him. Snakes pile up on one another to exert dominance. If you have not had either snake sexed, a female could end up pregnant. If the smaller one is the female, she could die from getting eggbound. If one gets sick, the other probably will.

People who have had two snakes together all their lives then separated them for a few months say they both gained more weight and become more friendly with people. Even if all is well and neither ever gets sick, the snakes do not need the company and generally prefer to interact outside of their own cage. Imagine if you had a roommate you may not like much and had no way of getting away from him or her. If there is a cozy place in your room, she or he may sit on top of you to get to it, or shove you out of the way to steal it.

For the sake of the animals, go ahead & get an individual setup for each animal, it is healthier and kinder. Babies can stay in ten gallon tanks for a few months, or get a 20 gallon long with a few extra hides for security.

Jessi is absolutely right.....Ball Pythons are solitary animals, and do not need nor like "company", especially if you are looking at 2 snakes of such differing sizes, you are only asking for trouble.

IMO, the only time Ball Pythons should be housed together is for breeding purposes, and even then it is only for short periods of time and then returned to their own enclosure.

The safest and healthiest answer is to have 2 completely separate habitats if you want to acquire another animal.

Ok thanks for the help. These were the type of answers I needed. I will not get another one now as it would be two hard in my situation to have two cages. I will gladly just take care of the one I have.
