    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just recently purchased a Male albino 09, and he proceeds to hiss and strike at me frequently. He's in a rack with 7 other BP's kept at 84 degrees via thermostat. No issues with any of the other snakes just him

I bought a few snakes last month that were mean. I fed them a lot and handled them almost every day for the past month. The one female has stopped trying to strike and is becoming more comfortable with being held. The mean male has gotten a little better, but still balls up when I pull him out. I think it just takes time for them to build trust in you. Once they realize that you are not a treat they will settle down.

The only thing that has ever worlked for me is frequent handling. Be it a hatchling or an older snake. ( I'm of the mindset that if it feels displaying aggression makes you close the tub and leave it will continue to do so. Sooner or later it will accept being handled. )

Dont give in to his tantrums When ever he hisses and strikes just scoop him up if you are worried about getting bit toss a towel over his head Soon he will learn those behaviors wont make you leave him alone Also what size tub do you have him in it may be a little large and he feels insecure Good luck with him

lol thanks for all the posts haha, he's an 07 male so no baby. I have some nice gloves and will just take my chances i appreciate the help

and feed it, becasue they tend to get hissy and pissy when their hungry.

Ditto!

Whenever I get a hissy/pissy, I feed them as much as they will stuff down. After a couple months of stuffing themselves, they seem to calm right down.

Unfortunately, I also have a snake here that was very tame. He got some kind of issue with the cloaca area, I had to give him antibiotic injections and now he is pissy/grouchy. It's been 2 years since the injections and he's still grouchy. I'm sad because he was such a nice calm snake before.
