In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ahemmm, what does it for you????

locality or morph???
well if you dont already know i am a locality nut.... nithing prettier than the natural beauty ... not extra colors just natures true gems.........
how about you???

I am a morph freak, love the different colors and patterns that you can get and interbreed to make "new" morphs with.

I would still be a locality guy as well, but it is too hard to find an actual representation of a true locality animal without someone badmouthing it for not being extreme..(peaks, pinks, purples, what ever)

Locality rules!

.. of course I came into the hobby bass-ackwards. My first love (aside from that gal with the green eyes) was all the reptiles, nature and natural history. So I looked at everything as a product of a certain habitat or environment..

When I got into keeping and breeding snakes I gravitated to the Boas because there are just too many unanswered questions about them and their ways.. the locality phases and populations keep me interested (challenged)..

Of course we still try to produce the most beautiful boas we can, just within the available genetics of a particular locale.

Great subject!

I love all snakes, but especially boas. I started out really into morphs, with all the mystery of what can be created next. But recently I visited the German site, the one that some people may call a LOCALITY FANATIC( Stoeckil,I think it is spelled like this???). Well, it is amazing how much we can all learn from each other, if we just keep an open mind. I was very, very impressed with their opinions, knowledge, insight and most of all their passion. I still like morphs, but I have a new found respect for people that are into locality boas, and the more I learn about Boas ,the more I realize how much I don't really know. To each, his or her own!

Anything boa constrictor does it for me, regardless of subspecies. If someone else says its an ugly boa, its probably one that I have seen and fellin love with.

I tend to prefer the locality boas to the morphs. Right now i have a beautiful Crawl Cay that is quite a lot more pink than I'm used to seeing from a non-morph. Have a friend who breeds Sonorans; and I'm seriously considering buying one next time she has them available.

types

I just love all the ball python morphs BUT with the BCI I think that they look better in there natural colors.

i love all boas, but nothing can beat a freashly shed normal Brazilian Rainbow Boa...OOOOH! it gives me shivers just thinking about it! :smokin:

I love albino's and stuff. This tail stripe thing, unless an incredible full tail stripe seems like garbage to me though.
A few connected saddles and it adds a thousand?
Locality Rosys are awesome, and sooo many of them to choose from.
I love em all.
:crazy03:

I really like all the morphs. Albinos, snows, and hypos are the best lookers in my opinion.

pick a boa any boa...

I have gotten into sooooo much trouble going to pet stores and begging my husband to let me bring home any boa I find. It is really all his fault for getting me into this. (lol) He brought home a ball python a couple of years back when I used to have a phobia of snakes... I got over that and was HOOKED... Now, I love all of them, you name it, but I am starting to lean more to the locality breeding.

Heh. Reptiles are addicting. I am happy I know enough of the species I keep to not consider bringing home 3 or 4 unplanned purchases as an impulse buy. I do buy a lot on impulse, but only with species I can care for. I do not like burying myself over my head.

note on impulse buying

in regards to my last post about begging my husband to let me bring home boas... the key is, I ask, and I may want, but... I don't bring them home. I am intelligent enough to realize when I can and cannot care for a certain type of snake. For instance, I will NOT bring home something that is going to be more aggressive than I know I am ready for. I realize I am just getting into all of this, so I don't even attempt the more difficult snakes. I just wanted to clarify, so you don't get the picture that I have a house with 500 snakes running rampant...lol Right now, it is me and the 2 columbian bci's and the ball python and until he comes home from Iraq and we build the new house with a separate room for the snakes, that is how it will be. I know better than to even allow myself to get into anything more than that until I am ready, even though it can be really tempting at times. Just a note...
Thanks,

Wow he is in Iraq? I hope he makes it home safe.
I have immense respect for anybody in the service, let alone those who have gone through combat.

thanx

Thank you... we appreciate that. It is difficult living that lifestyle, which is why after this time around, he is getting out of the Army. Two tours in Iraq in a row with only 2 1/2 months in between is a lot to put on a family with 3 kids (7,6,5), really a lot to put on anyone. I signed up for this to learn a lot more about herps because he and I have been talking about our uncertain future when he gets out and we both share a love for the snakes (that my parents are just now starting to understand) and neither of us want to be that unknowledgable person that gets into breeding them and ends up over our heads with something that we knew absolutely NOTHING about. I wasn't sure if I would learn much, but as I have started talking on here, I have found lots of supportive people on here that have been really friendly and willing to answer questions that I have.
Thank you,
