• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ahhh

Maybe you should incorporate the "old technology" of phone extensions. When you call someone about an animal, have Mom or Dad on the phone with you. That way, the seller knows you are a juvenile, that your parents are ok with this, and it gives your parents an opportunity to be involved in the process and learn about your animals.

I believe it is illegal to engage in a 'contract' with a minor over the internet and/or by mail.

Are there special statutes for internet sales making the sales actually illegal?
I am trying to find out the specifics, and can't remember where I got this information... somewhere here on Fauna, I believe. It would be good to know.

I will give you some sound advice: Go to a reptile show and purchase your animals there.

The reason for this advice is simple; you are young. Take your parents and you have a greater opportunity to find what you are looking for. You will have the option to choose an animal you want. You will be able to speak to the breeder in person and ask all the questions you want. With your parents right there, breeders are far more willing to deal with you. The breeders will learn of your experience and be able to direct you in finding the perfect animal for you. Your parents will learn A LOT from the breeders and they will see your reactions and find out how much you know.

Good luck, take it easy and understand the the internet is a great way to be ripped off. Your money is safer and better spent at a show.
