Because the species in question are visually extremely similar and scale counts are used to determine one from the other, if I have been following the semi-coherent ranting accusations posted by Justyn correctly. Not something most people would be inclined to do with the photographs they were provided unless they had some reason to suspect the species was being misrepresented.

I'm forced to pretty much immediately recant this- apparantly the species mix-up was with the water cobras; I had somehow read the thread and was under the grave misimpression that it had to do with burrowing asps, which were only mentioned as an example of how misidentifications could make it through a legitimate process.

Boulengerina species have some slightly variable patterning and it's theoretically possible for individual animals to exist that might be phenotypically abnormal and difficult to identify, the average B. christyi is visually dissimilar enough to be distinct from the average B. annulata to anyone familiar with them. Although personally I'd have a hell of a dicey time distinguishing between some of the annulata subspecies at certain ages. But then, I'm strictly books and photos with the genus, no direct contact whatsoever.

Like if I shipped you a lizard US mail Wes and you were expecting this lizard and instead it was a Viper of some sort.. Hey we know you can't ship hots like that, so who is responsible you or me.. As for the photos who knows what pictures they did or didn't see before hand. And it still comes off as Justyn being pissed that they got the animals before he did. IE they had the funds and he was waiting on people to prepay.. Randy

Randy, if you send me a photo of what you're actually sending and I know it's not on the paper work, much less legal, then I am on the hook for it.

There is no way around this one. IF butterball and/or Joe knew they were getting snakes that were not listed on the paperwork those snakes were coming in on, they are guilty of smuggling.

Well, I'm certain that there is absolutely nothing I could do to improve Al's reputation in the hobby...I'm a very small fish in a very large sea. Al's reputation and knowledge speaks for itself, and needs no help from me. I am fairly certain that there is nothing Al could gain by being friendly to me other than my friendship...being that I have a very limited presence in this hobby, that's not exactly an ace in the hole. The same would go for you.

Again though, this thread isn't about Al.

The thing is, he DID use justyn. It seems he did just because justyn is in the doghouse with most of the reptile world. al told justyn that he would post a good guy thread about him when their deal went well. It did and al didn't. He lied.

He then, when justyn declined to help al in a deal that justyn had nothing to do with, ban him from posting ads on a site that al was a mod on. In fact I believe he got justyn banned from the site. The only reason I have seen presented is because justyn didn't help al. al bought from justyn. al said he would subsequently recommend others buy from justyn to help him restore his image. al got mad because he made a deal with justyn's exporter and justyn wouldn't help al get the money he lost back.

These are not the acts of an honest man. This bugged me.

When I asked about these things on trr, al deleted my post without telling me why.

When I started a thread about it on trr, that thread disappeared. No one has yet told me why or who did that. My understanding from when I was a mod is that these actions were not to be taken without letting the person who's post or thread was deleted being notified who did it and why. This also bugged me.

butterball has abused his authority on at least two sites. He's lied on at least one, two if you count this one where he "made mistakes" about what he meant to say.

Maybe he doesn't make a habit of these things. Maybe he just hasn't done it to anyone who cared enough to speak up prior to now. It makes no real difference. We are small fish in big ponds.

But butterball, as far as I am concerned and based only on what he has done to justyn and myself, is a scumbag.

It's not how much you know, it's what you do when no one is looking.

butterball doesn't play fair or honestly.

not necessarily.. its up to the discretion of the mod/admin to decide whether they want to tell a person their thread/post got deleted. I can not begin to tell you how many of my posts got edited, or deleted by certain admins.. even though I knew cuz I had access to scott's admin panel and could see everything everyone was doing. It really isnt a written rule on TRR, and if it wasnt one of gary's then it was most likely one of Scott's made up "I'm co-owner of TRR" rules.

The other posts had just plain name calling in it. and the TOS is very clear that is a no no.

So no rules were broken in removing them threads. NONE.

wes, we dont know eachother and you probably dont care what i have to say but i think my opinion might be shared by a few others. ive heard you have a decent reputation as far as how you do business, and ive heard you are a pretty good guy all in all. but that being said, your posts here remind me of something i might see coming from a young kid thats just trying to get a rise out of people. gary has shown a great deal of patience for you and it seems he has done his best to help you understand the situation, yet you continue to be insulting, you continue to be whinny, and you still show that you cant function like an adult on the internet. those little "ASSume" comments you make sure are clever, i might have got a kick out of it when i was 15. my piece of advice would be this- unless you are trying to be aggravating and you really dont care if you seem foolish, maybe you ought to take a break from interacting with other adults on the internet.

Hey, it's no skin off my nose if your rules on your site are not firm. I have my reasons for asking and sooner or later someone will tell me, but it's no biggie when it happens.

butterball has proven himself less than upstanding in the way he dealt with justyn. Maybe it was a one time deal. I doubt it though considering he deleted my post asking him if he had a double standard pretty quick. Seems to me he's hiding something.

Why does it matter so much to you as to who actually did it? The fact of the matter is that the stupid thread did not belong in the Hot Zone as it has no substance of being in that section of the website...Besides, Gary does NOT have to disclose any information to you, me, or any other person on the fricken internet in regards to his website, his administration staff or the moderator logs on TRR.
