Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sold me a Green Blue Tokay
accepted the money
very little communication
came time to ship my Green Blue Tokay
simply stated "not comfortable shipping"
returned payment
No discussion of "pick up at hub"
we are talking 40 degree day time
30 night time temps
I didn't even ask for live arrival guarantee
Prolly just didn't want to honor a good deal...

Seller told you he was "not comfortable shipping" then he refunds you the money you sent him.

So you start a bad guy thread about him.

He was honest with you and refunds you.I guess this thread is you twisting the knife? because you did not get what you wanted.
 
Checked out the Ashland weather, it is supposed to get down to 13 on Saturday. Possibly the seller was responsibly concerned about the health of his critters during shipping (and rightfully so, IMHO).
 
I am puzzled as to why this ended up on this board; you paid your money, he was uncomfortable shipping given the temperatures, he refunded your money in full to you...who is the injured party here?

Honestly I got this gecko box one time,
looked like FedEx hit it with a square baseball bat!
Gecko was alright though....
never had a critter die in transit....

I don't ship my reptiles either
only sell to you in person myself
 
You can whine and stomp your feet all you want,that does change the fact that the seller did not want to take a chance of shipping into cold weather.

Mr. Kingfisher, you might consider that it is possible that the seller noticed other red flags that, coupled with quite legitimate concerns about the shipping weather, summed to a transaction that promised to be trouble. The fact that you've started a clearly unwarranted BOI thread is additional evidence supporting the hypothesis that a seller might want to steer clear of such trouble.

That waiver would not be much comfort to a lizard dying of cold due to being shipped when the weather was too cold. I would definitely do business with Alex Hutchison, and I would avoid transactions with Jo Nathan who doesn't seem to 'get' that there are real, live critters involved in these decisions.

I highly doubt that any reasonable post will be accepted by Jo Nathan Kingfisher so probably best not to entertain him. The gecko may have survived shipment but I'd be worried about his care after Jo Nathan Kingfisher received it so kudo's to Alex Hutchison for refunding and keeping it.
 
I've had torpored out lizards arrive & revive.
I'm not a seller on here nor have I ever been.
There is view askew on the industry standard
a sort of built-in double standard hypocrisy
sellers protecting the seller interest.
Do your business together then
as you would anyway.
If a gecko shipped here tomorrow
that gecko would likely arrive alright.
We all do business as we choose
as we would anyway.
You like doing wishy washy business
you do that together...
