In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Garrett May appears to be attempting fraudulent activity again under another assumed name. He is now using the name Alfred Buttacavoli as the user geckoholic21. However, the email he sends stuff through shows up as coming from Garrett May. I paid for the two RTB red and cream female crested geckos he currently has listed and did not notice the name difference until Paypal told me I sent a payment to "Alfred Buttacavoli" when it was Garret May I had been talking to through the same email connected to the Paypal account. I did a search on both names after that. Found nothing on Alfred Buttacavoli (likely a fake name he is using) and noticed the geckoholic21 account was created only days ago. Paypal claim filed.

Here is the email chain of communications:

Please go into Paypal and refund my money now. Otherwise, I will have to escalate to a Paypal claim.

Ya I branched out on my own from an old business partner I was with for years that royally screwed me over. I totally understand from your point of view I hope you find what your looking for it was nice to talk to you. Take care Jessica!

I realized there are two vastly different names being used on Fauna, your email and Paypal accounts, and then found a BOI linking one of the names to questionable selling behavior where people never got their geckos. It makes me uncomfortable putting my $500 out there in good faith. Paypal would have guaranteed you that payment as I am verified and it was a direct transfer of actual funds from my checking account. Wanting me to wait for a payment to clear your bank could mean I loose my funds or have them tied up for a month should a situation like that on the Fauna BOI prove true. I can't risk it. Using two different names and having a newly created Fauna account makes me uneasy. I'd like an explanation and I would still like those geckos if they are really yours to sell, I am just afraid of loosing my money and getting no geckos.

What shipping company do you use and will they have live and on-time arrival insurance? Can I see some more pictures of them or their parents while I wait for shipping?

I just sent in the payment. I got off work late so sorry for the delay. Please let me know when you receive the payment. When were you thinking you would be able to ship? I would prefer to work it out for a day that I don't work the night before so that I can assure I won't be held late at the hospital. I work again tonight so I'll be asleep until this evening. My phone is 208-283-7374 if you need it and Paypal should show you my shipping address, but let me know if it does not. Thanks.

Ok, thanks again. I should be home by 9:30 am Mountain Time as long as there are no critical situations with any of my patients that keep me at the hospital longer.

They look awesome. I would love to get them, but I really need to get to sleep since I work nights and now only have 6 hours to sleep before I have to be back to work. I saw your ad and I just had to ask about them before I logged off the computer. Who produced them? Where are you located? Will you be able to ship them out soon without temperature issues to work around too much? It is getting cold here at night so they might need a heat pack or extra insulation. I will check my email when I wake up to see if you still have them. Thanks.

Hey here are the girls! Both are eating CGD and dusted crickets. Only reason I'm selling is because I recently moved and needed funds for "life" haha but they are amazing girls with great personalities.

Communications have stopped since I asked him to refund my payment immediately. Has anyone else made payment on the two red and cream girls or any of the other geckos he has posted? I am just wondering if he is pretending to sell to multiple people with no intention of ever actually sending the geckos to anyone. The explanation of having been "screwed" by a former business partner seems pretty bogus. It is not that hard to get a new email and Paypal account or to explain to people the situation before they purchase so that they are not surprised.

Geckoholic

Apparently there are a bunch of us who responded first:

Hey Mike small world haha. Ya I just mived down there but don't have the final move in until another week. I don't want to sell these girls but moving is sooo god damn expensive for everything haha. What your email and ill send you pics. I already have 5 people asking about them but you beat them all!

Don't know anything about him but never responded to request for more info.

Update: he refunded my money because my claim put a hold on his account and because I made it clear I was not backing down. He did try to get me to close my claim saying it had locked up the funds so that they were not available to return to me. I didn't buy that either. Eventually he sent me a full refund and Paypal currently has it "in review". Hopefully they read my claim, figure out his account is fraudulent and shut it down.

Well, the geckoholic21 account DID submit proof of ID...using the Garrett May email. The face matched the pics on facebook, where he and Garrett are friends. When asked about the email, an explanation was offered.

I almost added a personal comment; but decided it would be inappropriate to mix that type of comment in a thread after a moderator statement. I'm sure that any number of people could make an educated guess what it was...

I agreed to purchase a trio of geckos from Mr. May on November 1st of this year. After sending payment, I was given excuses about not being about to ship the geckos due to weather and work issues until November 9th, at which time all communication stopped coming from Mr. May.

I then started getting emails from his mother, who the money was sent to. I was finally informed the animals did not exist and she would refund my money, which she did.

I would not do any dealings with Mr. May after this experience. I wish I would have checked the BOI prior to entering into the agreement.
