    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Because I'm insane I'm doing a life sized sculpture of David the synthetic from Alien holding a tiny xenomorph. It will just be his hand and part of the wrist.

I used my own thumb to add fingerprint detail and then added the Weyland logo (Prometheus showed us that David has this logo in his fingerprints). I'm not done with the rest of the hand but I couldn't help myself I had to bronze it up to see the detail. :)

I loved putting detail into the back of the hand. Fingers still need their final layer.

As to how the hand fits in...

SPOILERS: This is inspired by Alien Covenant which is a pre-quel to Alien where the Synthetic 'David' created by Weyland gets marooned on a planet and spends his time hybridizing and breeding more and more advanced forms of Xenomorphs (the aliens form Alien) with plans to eventually release them into the Universe to destroy the human race (which he hates for creating him to be a servant). :)

So this is a sculpture of David lovingly holding one of his early creations of death.
 
More detail work on the hand, added it to the base. Needs more wrist/arm, needs fingernail detail, needs bronzing (like the thumb).

I know not everyone agrees it was bad, but I'm still trying to get over my disappointment.

I *loved* the movie...but I watch movies very differently than most. The landscapes, the lighting, the atmosphere, the sets (I could stare at the art in David's study for days), and Fassbender was epic. All in all it was mostly a character study of David with some aliens thrown in...but I loved that. I was entertained. :)

Xenomorph portion of this is done! I had a lot of fun with the paint job. The green is 'color changing' and glints in the sun.
