    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I know firsthand after talking to my vet and a few investigators that Auburn University is capable of those tests and performing the biopsies. Not only do they have one of the top vet classes they also have a full blown vet clinic and would most likely be more than happy to to those tests and biopsies if for no other reason than to get some educational purposes out of it. They will still charge Allen for doing it but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Sammy lets not go there if you don't mind.

This threads subject is about as serious a subject as we've seen on the BOI. Sure there have been other cases of IBD brought here and not to belittle the trauma of those who were affected but this has the potential to make them seem like a case of a bad cold in comparison. We have a wholesaler who could be sending this disease all over the place and who doesn't seem to care.

I just hope Allen wakes up and realises that legally he is stepping in a real big pile, if IBD spreads from any of his animals after he was made aware of the possibility that he may have it in his collection and or resale animals. Can anyone say Lawsuit! and Allen will lose because he can't say he didn't know.

Please Allen do the right shut down for a while..Randy

Thats why I mentioned the buying time thing. Enough information has put into this thread for anyone to know that weak excuses and pity party storeys won't work here. Also keep in mind I've delt with Allen for quite some ti me before I ever started this thread. Even I slipped and gave him a pat on the back for pulling his ads just to get it spit in my face when I found he started another name to sell under. Wasn't trying to be harsh towards you Cathy , if I was I apologize.

Kinda hard to have the proper testing done if your busy selling the evidence. I can see now my vet will be learning all kinds of new things . My quarantines are gonna get longer and live biopsies may just be the only thing to get them into my collection. Just the idea of all the animals that can possibly become infected makes me cringe.

If hes willing to go through all this and continue selling I seriously doubt any test results he posts will trustworthy, i.e. which results won't get posted , etc..

Huh? If I dont feel Allen deserves the benefit of doubt I will say so. If you dont like it then too damn bad. Allen has came across as questionable at best from the day his biz originally came under fire from Bryon. And it has only went down hill since. I wouldnt have touched one of Allen's animals with a ten foot pole and that was before this last scenario ever came up. And if you dont like me saying so, again, too damn bad.

I understand that, but I took Randy's comment to mean let's keep it on topic. I understood your meaning also.

Back to this guy, yes he has the the potential to be the "dirty bomb" of boids. And I also agree that anything he posts would be suspect unless independently confirmed by a reliable third party in conference with the veterinary pathologist who handled all of the samples.

Saying Allen does not deserve the benefit of the doubt is keeping it on topic in my opinion. As you said, anything he says at this point needs to be verified by a reliable third party.
 
Ron my friend, I am so proud of you for doing this. Trust me I know first hand how hard it is and how I felt when I had to make that phone call to a vendor that I bought from.

What I have learned from my own personal experience is that quarantine with all new purchases and especially boids for a minimum of six months. Never share feeding tubs, never feed an uneaten rat to another snake, sterilize all caging, feeding tubs, and water bowls during the cleaning and feeding process. If mites show up, eradicate them immediately and follow up in two weeks from the date of the first treatment.

I learned this the hard way, however, I will never be sorry for the experience because I am willing to share my story and hopefully save other from my own mistakes. although I went through the live liver biopsies and only had 3 come back positive, I had every snake and cage destroyed.:angry:

Denial is a very powerful mind set when faced with this disease, my personal experience was possibly a little more strict than what others may have done, but in the end, integrity and ethics out weighed my own personal loss.

Yeah after the stories that he's already given us, his word that the sky is blue would need to be verified. Randy

The vast majority of what he was selling today seemed to be boids,as was the vast majority of the snakes at the show.

If he does indeed have a wide spread infection in his collection, I hope this crap isn't spread airborne. :(

I was thinking the same thing. I'd be pissed if I were vending there.

I certainly wouldn't be buying anything within 50 feet of his table.
