• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It has a few Quirks with Java but its getting better with more and more builds. one thing with firefox is HTML has to be writen pretty much perfectly. ( i havent messed with code lately to test it as of now, but in some earlier versions it had some troubles understanding code that wasnt spaced apart) there are some IE specific codes that firefox wont show, but other than that its got everything down.
It's that writing html is more difficult for Firefox, it's just that for so long IE basically ignored all web standards, so we ended up writing non-standard code because it was what most people used. I will say that IE7 follows standards better, but it's still not great. Try running the ACID test for CSS compliance if you want to see for youself.

It also somtimes conflicts with certain extensions that you install as well. im not sure as of WHAT exact ones cause the most trouble, but im sure with some good searching around you can find out the ones to avoid.
Get Firefox!
Here's my list of fairly short extensions that seem to work well together:
  • Adblock - does what it says
  • Adblock Filterset.G updater - automatically updates the adblock lists
  • All-in-one sidebar - Nifty little tool for getting rid of the firefox pop-up boxes like downloads, extensions, etc.
  • FireFTP - Don't use it much but it's a neat little ftp program if you're too lazy to use SmartFTP
  • flashblock - blocks most flash apps to prevent noise and ads (you click the flash to make it actually play if you want it to)
  • forcastfox enhanced - allows custom weather and a custom image for the radar right from the status bar
  • foxytunes - control winamp/windows media player without leaving the browser (I don't use it much now that I use winamp global hotkeys)
  • FxIF (non-mozilla extension) - shows EXIF data for some images
  • IETab & IEView - Shows a page using the IE rendering engine, for those pesky web designers that suck
  • image zoom - shrinks/blows up large images in the browser to prevent scrolling
  • web developer - tons of great stuff for web developers, and an easy way to diasable javascript.
