I started out talking to Alton through emails about doing a trade. 5 corn snakes(mine) for a normal female ball python and Pastel male. I went to his home and looked at the snakes. Both were skinny but he informed me that he was also a rescue and had just taken them in. The Pastel was house with his personal spider ball python that was half the size of the Pastel. After my girlfriend and I arrived home and began putting the two up we noticed the female had mites. After treating them both we informed Alton by email that she had them, he didn't respond. I email him again letting him know the treatment method and asked how the corn snakes were doing. He told me fine that he had tried to feed them, just three days after the trade. By phone he told me he tried live and the corn were scared when the pinkies moved. I told him how i fed them, F/t heated up with head opened and they had never refused before. I told him i would take the snakes back and pay trade value if needed. I had both called and emailed him about the health of the corns and never got a response. These are the most recent emails

I finally got 1 to eat I threw the others out
I asked what he meant by this and still have not received a response. This area of Alabama has had below freezing temps every night since Christmas, so even if these snakes could have survived in the wild there was no chance for them in this cold.
From what I know he only deals local but I don't want anyone else in the area to have a bad dealing with this guy. I told him I would buy back the snakes and he never gave me the opportunity to take them back in. I informed him I was making this posting.
