In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

HATE drama like this--will ONLY engage in fact disclosure here.

SENT HER SNAKES BEFORE GETTING PAID. my mistake.

SHE NO LONGER IS IN CONTACT, WILL NOT REPLY. WILL NOT SEND PAYMENT. KEPT THE SNAKES. THIEF.

An attempt at trust. I have found myriad wonderful people in the herp community. She is the first thief. If this does not concern you in a tangible way, please don't simply post curiosities, or wonder at my choices. I don't have time or interest in engaging ANY further. I put this out there out of a feeling of responsibility to the good folks of the community, not even for the money. I do not want good people robbed for trusting her. that is all I have to say. thanx

That won't float here. If you call someone a thief, you need to say why or people may simply think you are trying to smear the other person's rep.
Do you have details? Do you even know she received the snake, perhaps it was a shipping issue?

In a trade, someone has to ship first. But in a sale, generally the critter is paid for first since the seller has to at least lay out money for shipping.

Details, please.

Mark, while everyone would appreciate being warned of a thief, we can't just take your word for it. If you were accused of being a thief your accuser would be asked to provide proof as well.

You need not post absolute proof if you don't have it. Some sales are verbal, and sometimes there is no paper trail.

But SOME sort of account would help. How many snakes, how much money was involved, when was the transaction and when did you ship?

I have sent Amanda an email letting her know of this thread, perhaps she will shed some light.

We have been asked to be more gentle here and I am trying to honor the spirit of that request

But at the same time, when a BOI post is made, readers give it weight by what they see. Sometimes there is no trail, sometimes people post awesome emails that show exactly what took place.

As far as I'm concerned, with no information whatsoever about the nature of the transaction, not even an account of what kind of snakes or when the transaction took place does not carry much weight in my book because I think the accused person is not guilty simply by being accused.

Could you possibly post photos of said snakes? It will help in case they are being posted elsewhere for re-sale.

I just read the rules before posting and it said this was allowed. "proof" "not required" but helpful. I DO have proof in the form of messages, texts, and shipping receipts. I do not have time or intention for a long, drawn out drama. The snakes were absolutely received, and she was in contact briefly, until the issue of payment became un-ignorable any longer. I have tried repeatedly, in multiple fashions, to contact her and illicit a reply. NOTHING. Begged her not to cause a necessity for a post such as this one, not to drag me into this sort of thing. Because I WILL feel compelled to let others know that she does not make good on her payment, or promises--due to my sense of responsibility to so many great herpers out there. If I am doing something incorrectly in that effort, I apologize. I am not computer-savy and I wish not to invest any more effort into this than necessary, to let good folks know, that is all. Thank you.

These were normals, and I no longer have photo's of them, as I was remiss in properly backing up my last computer. I apologize.

If the parties involved would please be present enough in any attempt to offer one modicum of contradiction, I can address those issues directly with proof. I don't know how to do all the ''quote-things", cut-and-paste-ness, etc. to get texts and receipts onto this website quickly and easily and I won't invest the effort if there is no contradiction to this by parties ACTUALLY INVOLVED in some way. I can and will provide truth to anything contradicted in my post. I have really already invested too much energy into this for my comfort, I have work to get back to and I have achieved what I felt I must, getting the word out. Hopefully this can be the last of it. Thank you.

Thank you for further attempting to contact her. She recieved 11 normals and all I asked was reimbursement for the shipping, the snakes were free. My greatest regret is that in that an attempt to better their situation, I hastily trusted someone of apparently questionable character, and now those snakes are in such a persons care. If she has anything contrary to present, I will address it. I MUST be done with this and back to work for now, thank you.

Wow... if she took free female ball pythons and didn't even send shipping money, that's pretty low. I hope she comes to her senses and pays the shipping fees, because that's just crazy greedy.

Mark, I know all too well about not being computer savvy...maybe you can have someone help you posting all you have showing your end of the transaction. The BOI can be long, drawn out, and filled with drama at times, but the people here are for the most part greatly concerned for thei fellow herpers and will go to great lengths to help another out. I can think of 2 very recent threads where people were rallied around and supported when serious wrong was done to them. On top of that, to have snakes stolen from you and you not pursuing it to great lengths is a slap in the face to all of us, as she will steal again(assuming events have taken place as are you say). There are many wonderful people in the reptile business/hobby, but there are just as many scammers trying tto pull a quick one over on anyone they can. If someone has stolen from you, it is your responsibility to yourself and the hobby you love to go after that person.

Mark-
You seem like an intelligent, albeit angry (at the moment) guy. If you felt compelled enough to make this post, please go the extra mile and provide what you can to make a better case for yourself. We want to help and maybe can if you help us understand (completely - with proof) your case. Generally, I accept that you sent snakes and didn't get paid - that sucks. But believe me, if you make a good case and provide the evidence, Amanda will look at this thread and hopefully make it right. When you paint a picture that's undeniable, it's hard to make excuses, and if she ever wants anyone to do business with her after you've made your case, she'll have to resolve the issue with you to your satisfaction first.

Thanks
Jim

If you do provide proof, it will make those that read this in the future MORE apt to NOT buy or sell to her.

Just sayin.

Mark, Thank you for taking the time to make your fellow herpers aware of this individual. Even though proof is not required to post here, it has become some what of a un-written rule. You have to understand that a lot of wrongful BOI threads have been started with out proper grounds.

It seems to me you have had every right, and exhausted every resource of communication. You will find that the members of this forum will be extremely willing to help you get the proof you need posted with as little effort on your end as possible.

I think we would just like to see some text messages of the agreement behind the transaction and the proof that the animals were sent & received. Once that's shown there isn't much she can say or do unless she can provide proof of payment.
