In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Amber had several auctions on reptibid. I won 5 of those auctions. After the close of each auction, she sent me e-mails stating everything was already sold, except for 2 ball pythons, and the winning bid wasn't what she wanted for the balls. She claims she tried to close the auctions, but reptibid wouldn't let her. So, I posted negative feedback about her on the auctions, along with 1 other person who won a few of her auctions. In return, she leaves negative feedback about me and the other person who left feedback about her. I think this is poor business to put things up for auction, and then not be able to produce them when they are sold. Whoever Chi is on Reptibid got lied to, because she told him/her she had sold them already, but she had sent me an e-mail at the time all of her auctions were closing. Here are the e-mails I exchanged with Amber:

I am very sorry but I no longer have this item(s). Reptibid wouldn't let me close the auction and I couldnt post anything because my computer was acting up.
I apologize. Sorry!

I do still have a few animals for sale if you were interested in buying directly. Reptibid just completely went wacko on me, and I've had a couple friends having problems too

The only thing left I have are the ball pythons and that didn't come near the price I wanted, I tried to close it, but I didn't work.

If you notice, one e-mail says reptibid was acting up, and another says it was her computer. In another e-mail she says she has a few animals left, but when I question which ones, she says only the 2 balls are left. Seems like she just didn't get what she wanted out of them, so she decided to tell everyone they were already gone. (just my opinion)

In my opinion...

Auctions are for inferior animals (ie, WC) that cannot be sold in the regular classifieds. My opinion is that the auction buyer is looking for a good deal, something cheap to resell, or something cheap because they are cheap. You get what you pay for, VERY seldom do you get a GREAT deal. To me, Auction sites are a big waste of EVERYONE's time, money and more hassle than they are worth. I would never post any animal for sale in an auction, the buyers at these sites seem almost as shady as some of the sellers that have come to light.

This is just my opinion, and I have not been to an auction site in some time, except to see if there were any high quality animals for sale, and of course, there were not, so I left.

I am very sorry to hear of your luck (or lack there of) regarding your deal/deals. I have to ask you though, you have 3 "bad guy"/'you decide" posts out of the first 5 on the page. Is there something you could do in order to insure yoruself that you are dealing with reputable people? I have been selling, trading, buying snakes for 7 years on the net (had snakes for 15 or so) and I have not had that many bad deals in all those years. In fact, the only bad deal I had was when I received a chondro that died less than a week after I got it (adult, happened last year). I just think you need to be a little more inquisitive when dealing with these people.
I look at all the people that are selling snakes these days compared to 5-7 years ago. The numbers have grown DRAMATICALLY. Take note of the names of the people thata re posting these ads. Look to see how long they are up without being sold. COmpare that to other people that you might recognize and see that they are selling the same types of snakes that others may not be. That would tell me something.
This is only one thing I look out for when I am looking to buy. 9 times out of 10, I go to the people I know are good to deal with. It pays off in the long run.
If someone has a snake for considerably less than the "norm" I would pass on it in a heartbeat. There IS a reason why it is so cheep. People trying to get others money by scamming them OR there is something wrong with the snake.
Just some thoughts!

**These are only suggestions, this is not a proven fact, and I am not saying that people who cannot sell their animals are bad. There ARE other reasons for not selling a snake besides "bad publicity".
