    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I called the Petco and spoke with one of the merchandising managers named Adam. He did verify that Andre is purchasing 2 of the old cage systems. He did inform me that they are over 10 yrs old and in "alright condition". I mentioned to him that Andre is trying to sell them both for $4500.00 and he started laughing.

He states and I quote " He wishes Andre the best of luck getting a 2000% + markup on those old cages. "

And if you indeed grow up to own a pet store. I hope you the learn the fine art of pricing. Most pet stores do a 100% markup on live animals and select goods. If your shooting for 1000% + markup you will not be in business very long.

Andre, I am sorry for my last post. I forgot that you are only 13 and have a lot yet to learn about business. My post was in poor tatse. I sincerly appologixe for it.

Just remember to be fair to your customers Andre. Pass along deals that were given to you and you will do well. Needing money is never a good excuse to rip someone off.

Look here Junior. You are a liar. You first start off claiming you have these "high value items" ["well i actually do have them"], then you can't post a pic with you in a red shirt until Saturday the earliest. This is because you don't have them yet. I for one do not want to nor will I deal with a liar. There are many other people who think the same as I do and do NOTwant to deal with liars.

I agree; let's be gentle with our children. Life is tough, and business is hard; but although youngsters make errors, I think it is appropriate to teach them as we show them what we ourselves have learned.
 
I don't know about you Lucille, but I never lied about having something I didn't and I never placed a false advertisement. Then to top it all off I never charged a 2000%+ markup on something I received as a "deal".

I know I was harsh but this was not just one mistake done by a young child. It was a series of them. And at the age of 13 he knows the difference between right and wrong.

Let's just hope he learns from all this. You try to lie to people and you will most likely be caught. You try to sell something you don't have, you will be caught. You try to rip people off, you will be caught.

Learning hurts sometimes................
 
Mike, there is no question that young uns need to hear from us when they do something that would not be tolerated if they were adults. I try to use forbearance, though; and teach them in a way that they will really hear what I am saying. I think all of us need to share our opinions with young people here, I want them to learn and stay with us.
 
Well i said i have the item because i practically do i paid for it im just waiting for my dad to pick it up hes has meetings to go to. and i did not lie. how did i lie if I supposably lied?

I think that saying he "tried to rip anyone off" is overstating things a bit. I don't believe he was ripping anyone off, he can ask what ever he wants for the cages. It's not like someone paid him for them and he disappeared with their money.

I could put up an ad for a normal adult CB female with a $5000 asking price. No one in their right mind would buy her, but i don't think my silly price could be construed as "trying to rip anyone off".

He was wrong to say he had the cages, when in fact he doesn't yet have them in his possession. However, I don't think it is necessary to give the kid "both barrels". :rolleyes:
 
Jesus guys, lay off him. Some of you are acting like you are the 13 year olds. He's a kid and you guys need to keep this in perspective. No matter what the intent of your posts, whether good or bad, most of this will be lost on him due to his age. Let him buy whatever cage he wants and price it however he wants. It's his cage and some of you need to back off. I realize it's been 40 years for some of you since you were last 13 but keep this in perspective.

Id have to admit.....This has been a lot of fun to read :p And my advice is........try and sell it for maybe.......$200-$300 or less...........to someone that is local and can talk to you face to face. Maybe put a sign up that tells a little bit about yourself and say that you are trying to raise money to buy yourself snakes......then if u ever sell it......but the $$ towards getting a pr. of hets for albino........then you could breed your own.
