In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is a warning to sellers that Andy Billings attempted to extort monies for snake he bought months ago and tried to extort funds for snakes he received free and sold to his friends.

I would not recommend selling to this individual.

Andy is a scammer and is only pissed because he was caught in a scam. Andy sold a snake I gave him for FREE to his buddy for $300 dollars and a month later his buddy allowed it to soak and get bumps and he has to refund his friend for the scam he pulled on his own buddy. LOL is all.

My dealings with Andy started in January 2008 when he bought some cb ground boas. Due to weather and at Andy's request, I held them until March 2008 and shipped. Andy reported they arrived in great shape and I never heard from him in weeks/months. A few months later, he bought some egg eating snakes and he reported they arrived great and I never heard from him again.

Later, Andy was so happy with my snakes that months later in August, Andy emailed and said he wanted to buy more egg eating snakes as his others were thriving and he was overjoyed with them. Andy added that the ground boas caught a respiratory at his place and they passed although he did not show me any evidence they passed. None of the other 30 I shipped to several folks ever showed a resp and it was weeks/months after his report they arrived in great shape with no sign of any issue. Despite the guarantee was void at that point, I had many Asian Green Snakes on hand in a breeding group which were long term captives and offered him a free Asian Bush Snake (E. frenata) valued at 300 dollars as he also wanted to buy 1.1 cb 08 egg eating snakes.

Yep, a 300 dollar snake for FREE just to show my appreciation of his continued business and I throw in free snakes all the time for folks.

Andy paid August 31 and on Sept 3rd I shipped him the free frenata and 1.1 baby egg eating snakes. When I shipped, I emailed Andy the tracking number and informed that the red egg eater was in its second shed and strongly advised to not feed it until it sheds as the travel dehydrates snakes and feeding it right away could harm or kill the tiny snake. Andy IGNORED my advice and emailed me the same day he received them that he fed both egg eaters and they ate great and he was very happy. His report was that all of the snakes arrived in great shape. I again advised him it was not a good idea to feed the egg eater that was in shed.

The next day Andy emailed and said he discovered the red egg eater dead. Despite it all, I notified Andy that he would get another for free or a refund for it ($75 is what he paid for it). Andy purchased baby red egg eaters before from me, so I am not even sure the snake he showed in the photo was the one I shipped but took his word for it. We had frequent email conversations afterward about waiting for some egg eaters and some that were here that I was waiting to feed and adjust to captivity.

During this time, Andy emailed with illegal deals. He offered me native snakes from California and I passed on buying them.

A month later (two days ago), I answered the phone and it was some upset and angry person speaking loud and fast named Scott who I did not even know and never sold a snake to. Scott explained that he paid Andy $300 dollars for frenata when it arrived. Scott said it since developed bumps and puked and voiced to extort funds via threats to harm my company via the BOI. I hung up on his threats and phoned him after he calmed down. Scott voiced that the frenata arrived fine as Andy reported but was now in sad shape a month later. He obviously allowed it to soak and it got skin bumps and he said he fed it too much and it puked. I responded it was in perfect shape a month earlier, a year captive that ate from my fingers, and I did informed Andy to never allow any frenata to soak and always offer small food as they are prone to blisters and big meals are not good. I provided a good care sheet to Andy and had no idea Andy sold my gift to his friend. I also advised that they require an open cage with a heat lamp and boxes were not good as the humidity could demise that species quickly with wet paper or water bowl soakings. I also told Scott that I gave the snake to Andy for free and I did not understand why he (Scott) was after me for any $300 dollars? Once Scott learned that Andy was given the snake for free, he apologized for bothering me for the call. Regardless, it seems Andy scammed his friend for $300 dollars for the free snake I gave Andy. Scott then handed the phone to Andy and we spoke and I told him that despite it all, I would get him an egg eater or refund his 75 dollars but had some and wanted to hold them and watch them eat and grow for a bit and Andy said great.

So far, at this point, I see that Andy was very embarrased that I divulged to his friend that I sent him the snake for free. I was advertising them for $325 and it was obvious that Andy sold it to his friend for $300 dollars.

A day later (yesterday), Andy emails he wants 310 dollars and threatens to extort that amount of funds from me. I do not take kindly to threats or nut case emails like that, so I blocked Andy's email.

Andy's offers for native snakes from California is a violation of the Lacy Act. It is important that the state and federal authorities are aware of Andy's bids to break the law. Sorry Andy, but your gig is up. Now you can deal with the badge as I have your email offers to sell me the native snakes.

Andy also is making a 200 dollar claim on paypal that he did not receive what he ordered which is a lie.

Andy is a scammer and got caught scamming his own friend Scott.

Andy gets a thumbs down as a buyer.

I will ask again, in yet another thread, for proof.

I am rather new to the BOI and yes, I have read many of the threads regarding you Dan, but I am still trying to remain neutral until I see proof one way or the other.

Can you post the emails?

Beth: I do not have emails from March when I sent him ground boas and the ones from August may be here but there is nothing to dispute about them? Fact is he got a free snake and sold it to his good friend. I do have his emails from the offers of the snakes from California but won't post them until the proper authorities have been informed. Regardless, he does not dispute them. He is trying to say now the snakes were from Arizona but we know better. It actually is up to the authorities and we should not dwell on that issue.

I don't want to rain on your parade, Dan, so I won't get it too wet, but if you did send him a snake for free I would think if he wanted to sell it afterwards it is his to with what he wants. I am not knocking you with that statement, so please don't take it that way, it just seems like that's a sore point with you and I was trying to let you see how others might see it.

That is fine he sold it but it was a free snake. He did not pay me for it. It was a wild caught long-term captive that was dear to my heart and I spend a page explaining to him how VITAL it was to not allow it to soak in a bowl and then I get a phone call from someone I don't know telling me I owe him 300 dollars for a snake I did not sell him and he threatens to take the issue to fauna to extort monies.

I might add that Scott said he took the snake home the day it arrived and Scott voiced that Andy was afraid to touch the snakes. So now I have Andy asking for monies for a snake that was free and not even in his supervised care. Is that a joke or what?

YOu may have missed his post in the other thread (#90) about the discrepancy in his paypal request and his reply that he was sorry and was going to get it fixed for you. I hope that goes well toward making you feel a bit better about this.

Well he is a scammer and I do not believe he overlooked that his paypal dispute request was for 200 dollars. I mean he is asking for 310 dollars for a free snake I sent him that he sold to his friend so if that does not perk anyone's ears that he is a fraud, then I don't know what else to say.

Oh, they're perked alright! :) I just hate to see bad things happen over a misunderstanding or miscommunication if that's the case.

I know some folks get bent out of shape when we ask them to post e-mails or pictures or screenshots, but look what happened here, a mistake was found. Now it needs to be rectified, not by you, Dan, but by Andrew.

Yea, and I've never received a single dispute on paypal ever, so I do not appreciate someone asking for 200 dollars much less filing it against my good record of business with paypal. Despite he is pretending to not know the request was for 200 dollars, it is still not good when anyone makes a claim against your account regardless that he is not entitled to it. What I do not understand is that he made 300 dollars off a free snake I gave him and he still sits and pouts about 75 dollars for another snake he killed. Why does he just not deduct 75 from the 300 profit he made and live on be glad he made 225 dollars profit for doing nothing but creating hype over nothing.

It sounds like you have some terms of service in place to replace animals that have some kind of issue. But I personaly would not expect you to transfer those terms of service out to a third party unless that was part of this deal to begin with. After all, this does not allow you to make sure the animals specific requirements are met if you do not deal directly with the end buyer.

At the very least if a person middlemans a deal then they give the refund if they feel it is just and then go back to who ever they got the animals from to begin with. The middleman should not just shrug it off :shrug01: as and expect the two sides to work it out somehow.

When I see a BOI thread STARTED by Dan Scumlaro, the following quotation always comes to mind:

"A liar will not be believed, even when he speaks the truth." (Aesop)

Dan's word is worthless. He's a whacknut. Who he considers to be a good guy or a bad guy is of zero value to anyone.

Again, I am going to ask for proof. The OP states the pay pal dispute is over $75 not $200.
So far we have lots of lip service but no proof.
I am not going to take your word Dan, without some proof.

Dan, can you post that e-mail that you posted on the other thread and the paypal request that you did threre here also? I don't know how to get a quote from one to the other and it wouldn't hurt to have it here from you anyways.

**mutters** why was it necessary to start a new thread anyways, confusing I tell you :) **mutter**mutter**

Actually I was hoping for proof of the pay pal dispute so we can see what amount it is really for.
I did go back and see the emails that I had originally missed.
Its pay pal I am wondering about now

Thanks

On the bottom of the e-mail Dan posted he, quick and dirty, copied and pasted the payapl request. (I know it was a legit copy and paste, although a screenshot would have been better, as I have done that myself) I then asked Andrew to post his and he discovered a discrepancy in the amounts so basically we're just waiting for him--I think...?

Unlike me, Andrew probably has a real life and won't be here until after work so I'm impatiently waiting to see what happens. :)

thank you for catching me up.

Here's the email claiming 310 and his paypal request for 200 dollars. The man is claiming 510 dollars and received healthy snakes and sold the free one to his friend for 300 dollars.

Dan, I don't know where we stand on this. I bought from you thinking you where a reputable dealer and the snakes where in good shape. This hole thing has been a nightmare. If this Frenata dies I will be out 310 plus the 75 on the egg eater. I will not settle for that. Please let me know what we can do about this. I am willing to ship the Frenata back for a refund or try and hold on to it and hope it survives, but if it dosn't, what can be done? I am a breeder and I have never had a snake die from eating while in shed. expecially to think that a small finch egg liquid going down a snake would be called a lump?? they do not take the egg all the way down. Please let me know what we can work out, Thanks Andy

This buyer (Andrew Billings) is attempting thievery in his claim. He is a scam artist. He was sent what he exactly ordered via FEDEX tracking number 866544444650 and in addition was sent a free snake valued at 300 dollars. Without my knowledge or consent, he sold the free snake to his friend Scott for 300 dollars. A month later, Scott telephoned here claiming he made the snake sick and asked for a refund. I told him it was a free gift to Andy and I had nothing to do with his buy from Andy. Scott apologized. This person Andrew Billings is a conman and scam artist and should have his paypal account revoked so he cannot attempt to scam companies again.

dan,

If this guy really scammed you then thats all u should say. U make all these extra claims puttin this guy's name down. By doing this you are the biggest hypocrit i've ever met. Just by looking at your thread title i figure you are most likely trying to scam him by calling him a scammer. Words cant explain how bad of a businessman you are. Then you try to defend yourself by stating 5 paragraphs of nonsense to try to throw everyone off. I've heard from several people that you have a good way with words, but i can see right past it.
