    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi guys, I don't like posting a negative review and always give the seller the benefit of the doubt. On the other hand I always want to help any prospect buyers.

I bought a snake at the reptile show here in town and they were very nice at first and informative about the snake. I spoke to mostly Jonatan and Angel(I'm guessing her name). Again, very nice and accommodating at first, but the snake wasn't eating after ample time. I then sent a message on their social media for help and a birth card(for my records). It took over a couple weeks to respond what kind of food and I only got a short answer of it eating rat crawlers(Luckily I have some knowledge of assist feeding and it wasn't near skin and bones). Nothing else just that and I asked again for a simple card, no response.

The snake is doing well but not a good eater. I would assume a business will do the right thing by helping after the sell and not put an animals well being over money, meaning putting out a snake when it's not a good eater or even warning the customer. I doubt they will even answer frozen thawed or housing prior.

Hopefully this helps someone with some caution prior to doing business with them.

How does the snake look? You stated it was not skin and bones, is it possible that it was a good eater for them, and that the new environment caused the snake to not eat well?
I'm sorry your critter is not eating, I hope its appetite increases soon.
It is always nice to get post sale advice from a seller, but advice and husbandry suggestions are available here on the forums. Do you have screen shots of your requests to them for advice, please post them.
 
I agree with Lucile, snakes will sometimes stop eating because of stress in all kinds of forms.
change of cage size, substrate, temperatures, humidity, food type, food size, being handled etc etc.. and even people with a little experience get worried when a snake doesn't eat right away..
maybe a little more info would help us too.. what kind of snake and what is the time frame you considered too long..
Ball pythons are notorious to stop eating and can do so for months, now !!a baby that has been a good feeder, should get back on track in time.. worst case after 6-8 weeks and it still refuses, try a live hopper mouse, that tends to get them going again.. hopefully you've tried this before assist feeding.
but if that snake you have has had many meals before being sold and is said to be a good feeder, you should keep track of it's weight before getting worried too much.. if the snake loses weight, then after trying all options other than assist feeding, only then should you revert to this stressful option..
now I'm not defending the fact they didn't offer more help, myself, I go out of my way to help my new owners, but I do get the newbies contact me saying that the snake won't eat, but they love it and it's super sweet because they handle it every day :-/

so saying this !!! not sure this is worthy of BOI ??

without having any more details, to help you out.. I would recommend that you set that baby up in as near as possible of an environment the seller had it in, if paper towels, smaller bin, hide .. everything.. then leave it alone for a full week, even two then try feeding a really warm F/T prey of equal size of the sellers .

best of luck and I hope this is just a adaptation period for the little one.
