Angola pythons – 2022 hatchlings
Had two clutches of Angola pythons (Python anchietae) hatch in August from two unrelated adult pairings. I have one of the most diverse breeding groups of Angola pythons in the country and strive to outcross and produce young from as unrelated adults as possible, and am currently working with adult breeders from 5 different sources across the U.S. This breeding group has been consistently producing some of the nicest Angola pythons available in the U.S. for many years with respect to both color and pattern. Angola pythons always hatch with a dark chocolate pattern, but always color-up significantly over their first year or two with each subsequent shed. The first two photos are of this year’s hatchlings, and the third photo is an individual from a 2020 clutch produced here, illustrating the typical color change within the first couple of years. All neonates are feeding extremely well on f/t small mice or rat fuzzies.
