angolan pythons?

Is there any chance that angolan pythons could be a hybrid. They look like ball pythons, come from the same area, and even roll into a ball when threatened. I was just thinking about it and wanted others opinions.
Could a Ball Python in the wild have bred with something to make the Angolans?

Umm.... it's highly unlikely that they are wild occuring crosses.

Angolans are without a doubt their own species. I mean there's no sense in even pondering that. Their similar characteristics are also pretty easy to explain...evolution is an amazing thing.

The Ball Pythons geographic range is all north of the equator.

Geographic range
Found in Africa from Senegal, Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin, Niger and Nigeria through Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic to Sudan and Uganda. No type locality was given in the original description.[1]

The Angola Pythons geographic range is south of the equator.

Geographic range
Found in Africa in southern Angola and northern Namibia. The type locality given is "Catumbella [Catumbela]" near Lobito, Angola.[1]

The two are closely related but they don't meet in the wild. Perhaps they did eons ago but not today.

Therefore, technically, there IS no such place as Burma.

It was a joke due to the press that burms get from being in Florida and I was playing around because Burma is now Myanmar. Hence the comment about there even being a place called Burma.
