In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Has anyone purchased any of their cages? I'd like to get feed back from those who have.

I'm looking between Animal Plastics cages or PM Herps cages, trying to find out whats better.

Thanks
Mike

I have 4 AP cages. I like them a lot. They are easy to assemble and they look very nice. My only complaint was that I had ordered a basking shelf on my very first cage (circa 2008 or so) and they didn't drill the holes in the posts. I called and asked them and they wanted to save time. They did mark the areas where the screws went so it was easy to drill them in myself. My boa enjoys his cage a lot.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Rachel

I was curious to see how well these cages are since you have to assemble them yourself.

Do your cages have the swing doors or sliding doors?

Mike, I have several 4' and 3 6' AP's, all with sliding glass. Top notch product and service. You may try a search for Animal Plastics on the BOI for more opinions.

I only have AP cages/racks so I can't really compare the two. Both my racks and cages are very nice - the assembly instructions are well written and assembly's not too bad. The only issue for some is that depending on how busy they are, they may take a while to send the cages. I just make sure to order far enough in advance that it won't be an issue, and their customer service is great.

Thanks Rachel

They assemble and hold up just fine. They're very sturdy. They pre-drill everything so it fits and then they disassemble, which makes shipping cheaper. I have both sliding doors and acrylic swing doors. I personally prefer the sliding glass.

You will, however, have to reseal the bottom every couple years. I don't know if anyone has had a similar issue, but after scraping urates and such out of the corners for a few years, I've scraped off some sealant as well. I have also had this issue with my Sentec, which is probably the strongest cage on the market. I think it's just a wear and tear thing.

I work with a guy who has a bunch of different styles of caging and I really like the Animal Plastics they are easy to keep clean, they slide nicely, and are very sturdy, and are affordably priced.

Well I think I'm sold on the AP cages. I was really interested in knowing how well the sliding doors worked since I keep hots, and sliding doors are a must!

Thanks everyone for your input!

I've purchased three types of drawer type rack systems in all different sizes and they're pretty indestructible. I've always had great customer service from AP, although they do get backed up sometimes with orders. I highly recommend you give them enough leed time beforehand, since it may take some time for them to actually get the product to you if it's not something they have in stock that's ready to go. They will be up front about the timeframe involved, so no surprises there. I like their products a lot.:yesnod:

I have 4 AP cages with sliding glass and plan to get more.

Their customer service is great. My only advice is that if you want sliding glass doors with locking mechanisms to go ahead and purchase them at the time of the cage order. The glass panels need to be drilled. You can't use standard showcase locks on them due to the front center support. Or you can use dowels in the rails to chock the doors. Large snakes may slide them open from time to time if you don't.

I have one and shipping was fast and well packaged. My only problem is baby colubrids can get thru the small gap in the 15 quart tubs (econo rack). Aside from that excellent rack.

We have over 10 IRIS racks from Animal Plastics, made very well and have had them for years! Couldn't recommend a better company.
