    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Also on another note, I hope she didn't sell it to anyone else yet. If it truly had mites, a week is hardly enough time to get rid of them for sure.

I wasnt being dishonest.I meant she contacted me @ 10:00 PM the night before a (before noon) shipment.

Randy, I mean this politely, go back and read my posts again. You have completely missed my points.

Scott did not, by himself, break the deal. Both parties made mistakes. Some more easily understood then others. Anne is not getting a pass in my books but just like you are so easily bent towards looking at only Anne's failures, I am inclined to look at Scott's. However, I recognize the mistakes made by both parties and have come to the conclusion that this is not worthy of the BOI and certainly not worthy of implying she is a rip off artist as Scott has done.

Don't overlook the inconsistencies in Scott's statements. I have pointed those out. Does that put the onus on Scott? Goodness no. But it does imply that there might be more to this story then just what we are hearing.

I agree, it would be nice if Anne came on here to defend herself. But, silence does not make one guilty. Look at some of the bigger breeders who have been publically scorned on this board with nary a defense presented.

Scott, With all do respect. I have an honest question, So before you respond Think about it Please........... If Anne had sent you the snake, and in fact it did have mites Would the title to this thread be "Anne Troff No Good Seller" ??? The reason I ask is that People always say one thing and do another, Not saying you would .......This whole thing leaves alot of avenues open....And I'm trying to be impartial here for the moment...

So since she messed up and he got worried about getting ripped off and got a little hot under the collar. Scott should get nothing even though he is still willing to finish the deal. Anne gets to sell her snake for more money because she screwed up and made someone think she was scamming him. Yeah that makes perfect sense!!

Now lets just say that Anne got a better offer and sold it to someone else. We'll say Scott didn't bother to post here just said what the hey. Now that would be right wouldn't it?

A deals a deal she broke it and bringing this here was the right thing for Scott to do. If he kept his mouth shut Anne would think what she did was just fine and dandy. Until she did it to someone who would bring it here and weather they got a bit hot on her add or not what she did is wrong plain and simple. I don't give her a pass for it at all and wouldn't worry about entering a deal with Scott.

If Anne can make this right then yeah I'd consider doing business with her. Randy

Again Scott, not trying to imply that you are being dishonest. The only information that we have to go by is what you have written.

Another instance, you mentioned that you spoke to her on the 27th and promised to overnight a money order to her that same day. The money order was not sent out until the 28th, correct? You also mentioned that you tried calling her all day on the 28th. Why? You had not mailed out the MO until that same day. Why would you need to call her all day and then 15 more times on the 29th?

That's what I am getting at Scott. You made mistakes too in this.

What's that Saturday Night Live skit where everyone says, "I'm not worthy?" It should be us saying, "it's not worthy"......

Griz, I understand where you're coming from, however I see things a little differently. You have two people that do not know each other. They enter into a 1000 dollar transaction. The transaction is consummated and then the seller backs out at the 11th hour with a seemingly bogus excuse. The seller then has no further contact with the buyer. The buyer goes to the only place where he knows he can contact the seller and rips her a new one. Possibly a little overboard but still within the realm of decency.

I agree that she did a number of things due to inexperience. She didn't want to ship a snake with mites. (This may result in a bad reputation) and she didn't communicate very well. I feel she is continuing with her inexperience by not completing the deal. In my opinion this is all on Anne's shoulders.

I understand that you would have reacted the same way had Scott bad mouthed you as he did Anne. But you would never had been in that position in the first place. So it is a moot point.
 
Unfortunately,I have received plenty of snakes that were misrepresented in the past. Mites, mis sexed, RI. I was always able to contact the seller though and if not at least give them a piece of my mind, get a discount or full refund. I have never resorted to this avenue before and as you will see in the e-mail I sent Anne the day after posting the original message about her, I was not happy I did(regarding the sarcasm). I can gladly forward it to any party to show it was not edited in any way. STILL, NO RESPONSE

You didn't call me back for 2 days.
I called 20 times.
You could have called me and told me the situation before you decided to send
the $ back.
I would have taken the snake with the mites. I have a bunch of snakes and know
how to take care of mites.
When I called you to buy the snake you picked up n the first ring. When I am in
the middle of a transaction, I always keep in touch with my buyer(or seller) to
make sure we are on the same page.
You didn't call me until 10:00 the night before I was supposed to get the snake.
I actually took off the morning from work to make sure I was home to get it,
and busted my ass getting to the bank and post office in the middle of a busy
day because I promised I would ship it overnight to you..
I own an inspection business, and one timeslot is an average of $350.00(I am
not bragging, just stating a fact). Please don't misinterpret why I put that
there.
Seeing that you were generally concerned about the snake, and now you know I
don't mind the mites, I will re-send you the money order and you can ship it
next week.
Sound good?
If you are genuine about why you cancelled the transaction, I know this wont be
a problem, seeing you are one of the "good guys".
Please get back to me regarding getting the snake.
I still want it.

Has anybody contacted Anne about this thread? I doubt in the 3 hours this thread has been up that she has noticed it. I think it is a little early to say she has failed to respond.

Yeah it would and her silence doesn't make her look any better. Also they are big breeders not brand spanking new, huge difference.

Griz I know what your saying and yeah I think Scott could of handled himself differently but as WE both know all to well we can say things in the heat of the moment that we later may regret. And he had reason to be very upset..Randy

That's where you and I must disagree. A deal is not a deal. There are other actions in which I feel a buyer or seller can void a transaction and erratic or unfair behavior is one of those. What if you received money for an animal but prior to shipping you got leery of the buyers husbandry? Could you void the deal? Of course you could and probably would because we know that Randy will do what's best.

Point being, there are reasons for cancelling a deal and his behavior, had it happened to me, would have given me just cause to void the transaction.

If anyone is going to imply that Anne received a better offer then they need to do so with evidence. Simply implying that is certainly not fair and is most certainly NOT a way in which to handle situations on the BOI albeit probably par for the course. Don't imply what could have happened when it comes to situations of dishonesty.

Scott does not have enough evidence to say she is a rip off artist, to say she is someone to beware of, or to post this on the BOI. If she was truly running a scam then she would have walked away with his money.

Randy, we agree. And, don't think that I would not have been disappointed had I been Scott in this situation. I would have been disappointed (obviously since this was a steal), but I also would have respected her decision since admitting you have mites (especially on a public forum) is not typical of a scammer etc. I just received an Argentine from a guy on this board that was LOADED with mites despite him telling me to the contrary. I did NOT want this animal in my collection and she is now housed in my garage for the time being. I take mites very seriously as should everyone hence why I would have been disappointed vs angry.

Also, keep in mind that Anne left the voicemail for Scott at 10pm and he posted his derogatory classified post at 10:50 pm. Anne did not even have time to respond before Scott left his posting. And, none of us know what was left in his voicemail to her nor will we ever. That alone could make you completely do a 180 on this issue.

Again people, there is not going to be enough information here for us to access which side is at fault and there is certainly not enough here to warrant this thread. This is a he said/she said thread and is probably going to get nowhere.

Well when she shows up here she can post a photo of the snake on top of todays paper that would settle that.
All I'm saying is how I would have looked at it in Scott's shoes. She didn't ship and gave a rather lame excuss for breaking the deal, Doesn't respond at all! Then there is a post by her about it being worth 1700 bucks and then another saying sold. There are also other post offering more money than Scott had. So yeah if I were him I'd really really wonder that she got more for it.

I just don't understand this one Scott. After finding out there was no quarantine and this snake got mites from imported snakes, you still want it? The mites would be the last of my worries if there was no quarantine.
 
Griz I don't really know what Scott or Anne have their time in their profiles set to but there is often, say for me on the east coast a couple hours difference in what Fauna time is set at. Did that make any freaking sense lol..Randy

I took that into consideration. The main thing I was implying was that both her phone call as well as Scott's response was done late at night. In that specific case, is it no wonder if someone does not respond? If you call my house after 10 pm you are going to get a whole lot of the Mrs in your ear! :)
