Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Anthony Caponetto no delivery

my order has not yet been found but anthony has contacted the shipping company and we are in the process of an insurance claim for a lost package

If you'll look back, you'll see what happened. A tracking number was supplied, showed the order was delivered. Unfortunately, it appears Mr. Caponetto failed to provide the tracking number when it was shipped out, so Erik didn't know to expect to. Looks like someone got their hands on the package as a result.

So it would appear to me to be more than just "a line" being used. A failure to communicate and a thief around, but not an excuse as you'd like to believe.
 
I would have to throw in that if it were me, I'd already be shipping you a replacement or issuing a refund, then I'd be the only one waiting on the shipping company. I think Anthony is a stand up guy, and just going through some problems with his ordering system, so I'm sure if you discussed that with him he'd be agreeable? I could be wrong, but seems he'd do the right thing. ;)

Well he used a similar "line" in an e:mail to me. He did not send me or provide me a tracking number, but he did say that it probably got lost in shipping... now granted this was before the refund. I don't think Anthony a bad guy. I personally would never buy from him again, but i don't think him to be bad per say.
I think primarily he needs to work on his communication skills with his customers especially when there has been contact made questioning as to the status of an order. He told me that he would get right on mine, this was also of course before he refunded my money. I didn't hear from him for a week to the very day if i remember correctly, and..... The only reason i did hear from him was because of a post i made on here that he read. It pissed him off and he refunded my money.
Sorry, but i couldn't get him to communicate with me otherwise so i posted here and he obviously saw that.

I'm glad that the seller became cooperative--but I gotta tell you---on this board, I've seen Caponetto cling to lame TOS, become arrogant and threaten lawsuits--and provide repeated poor communication and customer service.

There are 10 other threads on the main page of the BOI with "scumbags" doing the same thing--and being crucified for it. I'm not sure what excuses this seller.

I don't think I consider Caponetto a scumbag---but after reading his replies on this thread and another--I think he may be:

-a pompous ass.
-a disorganized businessman going in many different directions.
-someone I'd not spend another dollar with.

I'm glad that public exposure forced him to do the right thing a couple times.

BEWARE--do your research before buying.

Will you be one of the random refunds or threats?

Will you be another one of those customers who "just can't be satisfied..."?

I know I won't be.
 
i have friends that buy from anthony all of the time and never have had any problems. they only buy reptiles but they have no problems since he has them on hand. it is possible for multiple orders to get missed when you are depending on the company you deal with to get orders out. i can see problems occuring when its not the direct source sending items out. anthony has helped me out a few times and has never been anything but a stand up,honest straight shooter type of guy. now i could flood this forum with people from iherp,blbc,morelia and a few other forums that have nothing but great things to say about anthony but i wont unless it becomes necessary on the BOI to show hes not a bad guy. perhaps his customer service and responses has been lacking lately but it doesnt make him a bad person. at some point i have seen even the most upstanding breeders/dealers customer service fall behind for reason i cant explain or even attempt to. now i do feel he should have a phone contact# so that issues such as these can be handled alot quicker if they arise since emailing doesnt get the job done. i feel that no matter how busy they are, they should always have time for the customers. taking phone calls yourself ot just having a secretary would help fix alot fo the problems that are occuring with the shipments on these racks.
 
Poor communication... Definitely agreed. At one time, it took months for a reply. I even switched to another email address thinking it was my email, and I got a quick reply saying he was sorry and would give me a deal bc of the poor communication and his email issues, but when I inquired about specific reptiles, I never heard back. It's been over a year. I've given up ever emailing him. I know the second email worked bc he replied right away; ask about the deal he offered and nothing...
 
Sorry, but my experience about a year ago buying geckos from him was the same. Very slow to communicate. Problems with his e-mail, yet those problems were suddenly fixed when I used this site to e-mail from. Keep trying.
 
after months of waiting my show display finally arrived today. good right? NO! i opened the box and pulled the case from the cardboard and set it on my bed. it was packed perfectly with lots of cushion. after unpacking it i opened the lid and there they were....... BROKEN AND MISSING THE OPTIONAL SPACERS THAT I PAID $15 for. the edge of one of the boxes that was on top was broken off. but here is the clencher. i found the broken piece in the bottom of the box which means that it was broken at the manufacturer before or during packaging. any one who has purchased one of these displays knows that because of the way they are packaged layer by layer with foam and plastic sheets to space each row it is impossible for a piece of plastic that big to work its way from the top of the box to the bottom. i am really pissed. and to top it all off contacting ac again is impossible getting another message that he is not available for another 2 days to even talk to him let alone get this worked out. i feel that any one that is thinking about buying any kind of rack or display should turn and run. there is to many problems with his system for him to be selling anything that he doesn't keep on hand. this was not a shipping co. mistake i am certain. if anyone would like pictures of the broken displays pm me and i will show them to you
 
Unreal---And I am sorry to hear of your bad luck.

He can't be contacted for 2 days? He's listed new items on KS.com within the past few days. :shrug01:

he emailed my wife the tracking number today he said the replacement unit and the missing dividers are on the way and should be here tuesday.
 
Well today is Wednesday. Have the replacements arrived safely?

I think the lack of replies here from Mr. Caponetto speaks volumes to future customers. If he won't reply here, you can't use the BOI to make him to the right thing.

I keep thinking about the email below posted in another thread that was authored by Mr. Caponetto. Correspondence like this---and other posts of his---really do a great job of framing Mr. Caponetto's "type".

Please keep in mind that I have a quarter million dollar a year (and growing) business to protect and I have every intention of doing so. YEP

i have recieved the replacment row for the on that is broken, and the spacers. he also sent and extra set of spacers and the glue used to repair the broken one and he is alowing us to keep the extra case free of charge.
