• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

And... For those that care, My card already refunded me full amount as buyer accepted obviously on his end! Just noticed this happened around 4am. So there you go, and you fools just lost a handful of new members thanks to the simple disappointment you folks showed a new fauna user in myself! Have wonderful lives everyone, however long remainS

I can certainly see why the seller did not want to deal with this buyer.

I'd like to go ahead and hop in because I know Anthony and have dealt with him personally. The OP has shown no proof of anything, and I wouldn't be shocked to see he's a complete liar.

I purchased a retic from him several weeks ago. We met in person halfway so I could pick her up- completely out of his way for the day. She was healthy, friendly, and clean. She was in shed and he apologized more than once for her being in shed, saying "I like any animal I sell to be in top condition". Before purchasing I even asked if she had ever had rabbits and would accept rabbits. He had never offered them, but went out the next day to find out for me if she would accept rabbits.

With this kind of customer service- I highly doubt Anthony would behave this way.

I completely understand why the seller didn't respond to this guy if the OP responded to him in any way close to the way he responded to others on the BOI. If simply asking for proof (e-mails, text messages, etc..) sends the OP off the deep end and into a whirlwind of insults toward the people whom are only attempting to help then this is someone i would avoid dealing with all together. There is no excuse for acting in the manner Nick (The OP) did. :shootfoot

Your posts just ooze professionalism and credibility.

Yeah, I know we will be losing sleep over that. If your posts are any indication of how your friends will behave on this forum you can keep them in whatever hole you crawled out of.

Timeline & emails

Hello everyone. I apologize for not responding sooner. I have been out of town attending a wedding and was not checking my email. It seems as though the OP has done a fairly good job of demonstrating his overall temperament so I will restrict my response to a general timeline and a few quick comments. The OP first contacted me on August 13, 2012 concerning some baby retics I had for sale. We exchanged emails and he eventually requested that I send him an invoice (attached). I received payment and he asked that I send the animal on 8/20. The morning of the 20th I received an email from the buyer incorrectly describing the animal (attached) (he called it a tiger and, as stated in the emails and invoice, it is a het albino). I notified him of his mistake and he decided to cancel the purchase. I told him that was ok, but I had already initiated a transfer of the payment money to my checking account and it had not yet posted. Once it did, I would deposit the money back into my paypal account and issue a refund. (I'm not certain when a buyer is no longer able to cancel a payment so I am very careful about issuing refunds). I also told the OP that I had a wedding to attend this past weekend and was planning my own for this weekend so it may take me a couple extra days. I was set to send the refund today when I received an email from the OP saying that he received his money (attached). I'm not sure how, but then I checked the rest of my emails and was directed to this post (thanks Lucille).

I'm quite surprised that all of this anger is over a transaction which was cancelled 7 days ago on 8/20/12 (I believe the original post was on 8/23) and which the OP acknowledged was cancelled due to his own mistake (see attached email from 8-22-12). Impugning an organization's business practices and integrity is serious and should not be done quixotically.

Thank you Millinex for your very nice comment. I always like to get feedback from customers. I hope the girl you picked up is still doing well. Please send me some pics of what she produces for you this season.

Lastly, in case a betting pool was started, my brother and I are from Oklahoma (congratulations to any winners). We certainly aren't arrogant. We're just regular people who enjoy this hobby and try to contribute what we can to it. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Anthony, congratulations on your wedding, and welcome to Fauna. I think that for me anyway, the parties in this thread speak for themselves. You have been pleasant, forthcoming, reasonable, and have provided proof.

The other party, not so much.

Thanks Lucille. That's very nice of you to say.

I'm really curious why anyone would act in this manner. Particularly in regard to his comments towards you. Completely inappropriate.

To update, I sent an email to the OP asking how he received a refund since I had not yet been able to issue one through paypal. I want to make sure he receives a full refund, but I don't want him to get two refunds. I have yet to receive a response.

Update

Here's an update for those still interested. I returned from my honeymoon to find that the OP still had not responded to my email concerning the refund. I attempted to contact him again only to get an undeliverable message (attached) - it appears as though he has blocked my email address. I then contacted paypal to try and resolve the issue through them. When I did, I learned that a dispute was initiated while I was out of town. Apparently, the OP contacted his credit card company directly to receive a refund instead of talking to me. The paypal representative informed me that everything is taken care of and I don't need to do anything further.

It is rather ridiculous that Fauna members had to be exposed to the OP's vitriol and I had to defend my reputation from attacks, which the OP never endeavored to substantial with even a scintilla of proof, over a mistake admittedly made by the OP himself. These types of attacks need to stop. I hope this is the end of the ordeal. Thank you to all who helped take a stance against the improper use of this forum.
