    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello, I posted previously about looking for experience and was wondering if there was anyone out there with a collection who would be willing to teach me as an intern near the 727 and surrounding area in Florida. Thank yall!

Giving big red flags bro. Your last post was looking for experience in Ohio, when someone told you Ohio was pretty much closed to venomous, now you’re saying Florida? Appreciate people trying to go through the correct steps to get into things, but something seems a little bit off here 🤔

I've lived in the 727 area prior so it's just a familiar area and I know FL laws are much more open, I wanted to pursue some kind of shadow/intern and wouldn't mind moving back for a time to get experience handling. Apologies not sure how to pursue something like this just trying to see all possibilities

That makes more sense. There’s a lot of negativity towards things right now so a lot of things come off sketchy. Kudos on trying to do things the correct way and best of luck on the journey. Definitely very rewarding and worth it. Facebook groups are definitely a solid place to start with finding a mentor!

Except that Florida laws are not open. There are three distinct permits for venomous keeping in the state of Florida: one for elapids, one for viperids, and one for rear-fanged colubrids. All of which require 1000 hours of experience documented with an existing permit holder, per permit. And once the permit is acquired, there are a plethora of requirements on secure caging, cleanliness, and mandatory inspections by state officials.

I second Travis's statement of seeing some major red flags.

With the laws open I more meant for the possibility of shadow/intern/getting experience to work towards the permit, only easier place is Tx (to my knowledge) because its just a $20 permit. Apologies for throwing flags just not sure on how to start my research or where to look.
