In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Any info on Jamie Cartee aka cantilxcotton1 ?

He used to live here in Arkansas, and during that time he and I did a bit of herping and bs'ing together. I have also traded and sold him animals at a show. I've known him for several years and have never had any issues with him.

OMG SCAM..SCAM
I told him I didnt know much about Leos. He told me about 1 female and a male. he sent pics and I liked them. He told me the male which is a Blizzard He said it was some special kind only he has was worth 800$ and the female was an unknown morph Hybino as per Ron Tremper and worth 1000$ So I said I did a little research but not much. We talked for 2 hrs about are kids and stuff..I said I would trade a pair of Bolivans for the Blizzard and a Pair of Costa Ricans a 4 BPs for the other one. After I searched online and couldnt find close to those prices..I showed them to my friends at RTB they said they were worth together 350$ tops.. Then he has the Blizzard listed here for 140$. I called him and he said he must of listed it wrong or his wife did it. I said he needed to show me some comps where breeders are demanding the same prices. He said he would.
Well never got that e-mail.
And I e-mailed that very well known Leo guy and he..Never heard of him!

WOW I would of been scammed out of 1600$ worth of snakes. He seemed really nice. I wasnt going to start a BOI thread b/c Im not like that. But this was crazy.

I still have the pics If anyone wants to see them..

I needed cage space and was going to get my son a gecko :(

I recently just finished a deal with him about a week ago, it took awhile to work things out but we were doing a trade. He ended up shipping us a male Super Pastel and we shipped our end of the deal the same day. The animal was shipped recently after feeding and it was a little messy, but other then that the animal looked great. Since then he has eaten 2 times for us with no problems. Jamie was always pleasent and always stayed in contact with us. Also he sent us a guarantee that the animal has a 1 month health guarantee and that it is indeed a male Super Pastel. He seemed very happy with the animals he received and we were very happy also. All in all things went smoothly and i don't have any complaints :)

Bumping this up. Looking to do business with Jamie soon and would like some feedback. He is on the Pangea Forums under the tag cantilxcotton which can be found here http://www.pangeareptile.com/forums/index.php Jamie is just his nick name and full name is James Cartee. The above posts are just hearsay so I would like something concrete.

I'm sorry I should have said the posts from cris78 are the ones that are hearsay.

he is alright by me

I have known jamie for a good 7-8 years we have bought sold and traded many animals together (mostly venomous). I recently did a trade with him I gave him a old rack I had and he very generously offered me some crested gecko's for it. one I already took ther others I will be getting when they hatch. we still haven't discussed which other babies I will be getting I am not real worried. we have always taken care of each other in the past.

I just received 2 cat geckos today from jamie and they look to be in very good condition. I traded him an LCD monitor that I had and I shipped first. Everything worked out fine and I would recommend him.

Ahh, seeing this on top reminded me to post my experience with Jamie.

I made a trade for some high end Cresties. I shipped first in the deal as I felt comfortable in trading after going through Jamie's extensive reference network! lol. Everything could not have gone more perfectly. Jamie held onto my guys for quite sometime because we could not get suitable weather for shipping. He was always readily available to chat through out the whole ordeal which was helpfull in calming any nerves I had, for this was my first big deal. The package came as expected and extremely well packed. I couldn't be happier as it's been well over a month and my geckos are doing great!! 2 of them were hatchlings that are growing like weeds. Jamie and I still chat often and I look forward to dealing with him again in the near future.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH JAMIE CARTEE

James Cartee aka "Jamie Cartee" aka "cantilxcotton"

We paid this man for five Eastern Box Turtles. He told us they were healthy, long term captives in his care. They arrived in horrible condition, all malnourished and showing signs of Vitamin A deficiency. One turtle literally could not move and died within several weeks. Three had eye infections. Two turtles required emergency Veterinary Care, diagnoses were: "chronic nutritional deficiencies, bacterial upper and lower respiratory infection due to immune compromise, Cuterebra infestation, conjunctivitis, Hypovitaminosis A. One Vet pulled 14 maggots out of the turtle's neck...a record! (Even the Vet was disgusted with this whole scene). None of the turtles will be healthy enough to endure hibernation this winter because of their malnutrition.

James Cartee claims, "ONE MONTH HEALTH GUARANTEE (I have never had one back yet!)". He has avoided us and not paid one cent in compensation. (Our Vet bills alone are over $250).

We three families feel an ethical responsibility to share our experience with the reptile community. Photo of one turtle attached.

Mr. Brennan,
Though you may not have liked the report that Ms. Kwant made about your friend Mr. Cartee, it was NOT hearsay, it was direct testimony of her personal experience.
Hearsay is when you report something someone else told you.

Example of Hearsay; “Billy Flappletrapple told me there is a Yeti in my yard.”
Example of Testimony; “I saw a Yeti in my yard.”

Given Mr. Battaglia’s report I think Mr. Cartee needs to do some explaining. How good in a 1 month guarantee if it is only on paper?
If the guarantee is not honored then it is a lie intended to trick people into making a purchase with confidence when in fact they should be avoiding the seller like a plague.

Mr. Dove,
You are absolutely right in the matter. The account told by her was her opinion and like you said hearsay involves indirect information from an outside source. I should have used a better term to suit my needs. Thank you for the vocabulary lesson. I should of had said something more along the lines that it was just unverified and I was hoping for other opinions to pop up.

Anyways, I also would have to say Jamie needs to explain this one.

There isn't much to say. I have offered to send 3-4 replacements free of charge. I was turned down. I offered a full refund if the surviving animals were returned, but was turned down. I offered to refund the female pictured even before she died, but was turned down. The maggots he speaks of were found a month or so after he already had them. So it isn't possible the maggots were there when sent.

He is expecting me to give him a full refund and he keeps the surviving animals? Sorry, doesn't work that way. I have offered several options, but they have all been turned down. He has the emails as do I. They only thing I have told him no to is a full refund and he keeps the animals, I'm sorry, but I do not agree with that.

Please post copies of the Vet reports. I happen to like turtles much more than I like people, and "chronic nutritional deficiencies" in LTC box turtles is going to require some fancy explaining, or shows a simple case of animal cruelty from a serious scumbag asswipe.

See.....this is retarded. I never once said John was lying about this or anything. This was a screw up deal(on my part). THAT is why I offered to replace them or the other options I stated above. I know there isn't excuses but the reason for my screw up on those turtles is b/c I WAS in the middle of a divorce and had to find a new place to live, and I do not have a vehicle, and was unable to get back and forth from the new place to the prior where the boxies were housed. And quite simply I was in a bad state mentally and alot of my animals were lacking attention. So yea, my fault, BUT I OFFERED TO REFUND, I OFFERED TO REPLACE. But he is not happy with that.

And now he is trying to make this out like I'm some horrible person, I'm sorry, but I do not respond well to strong arm tactics.
