In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Any news on the good, the bad, and the ugly of 2005 Daytona?

NARBC will probably be half the size of Daytona.

As for the pricing, I have this to say:

First, when ordering online you have to pay shipping as well. Second, you don't get the advantage of picking out your animal. That is why I prefer shows, even if the prices are higher. I can pick out the best animal for the best price at a show, as opposed to online orders where you could end up with a misrepresented animal. You can have personal contact with your purchase before buying at a show. To me, that is worth a few extra bucks.

Nick,

Your statement makes perfect sense, although we have also heard horror stories of people that have purchased sick and parasitized animals at shows. In my opinion it’s a matter of the basic knowledge a person has about that particular animal or species. It might look OK for the inexperienced hobbyist whereas a person with years of experience will never pick that animal. From that perspective a reputable dealer on the WWW offers a similar guarantee as one at a show. A unscrupulous individual will prey on less experienced buyers both on a show or on the www.

Best regards.

Yes, I agree. But if you know what to look for you can avoid the sick ones at the shows easier than you can online. Mainly, I like to pick out a specific animal.

My other problem with online is I don't see a lot of reputable breeders selling what I want. It is easier to find something by someone else, as they don't sell them as quick and may also offer a better price. The BOI has helped me determine who is good and who isnt though, it is a great service to have in a world where everyone wants to scam you.

Dan,

I believe the sort of problems you refer to typically happen to people who go into a show and shop strictly on price alone. Some vendors believe they can get rid of anything if the price is low enough. And they are probably correct.

Rich,

You are absolutely right, although sometimes it's not because they are looking for the "cheap" animal but just because of the fact that they have just a certain amount of money to spend. Experienced unscrupulous sellers can spot right away a novice herper and suggest him "that" particular animal with a "calm disposition". In reality the animal is probably lethargic due to the fact that's incubating an illness or the stress (of a WC) is simply killing him.

Regards.

Sucks what people will do for a buck. That is still why I like shows, at least you can see the animal and see if it is healthy. By internet, you cant tell until after purchase. So far, I have been lucky with my internet purchases, all good animals.

As for a novice, they can be had for a cheap dying animal whether it be at a show or via internet.

There needs to be a separate room for ball pythons and corns like there is for venomous. It will save me miles of walking past stuff I don't want to buy!:)

I put down a deposit on a snake that I wanted via paypal. And just picked it up at the show. Saved ne on shipping, and I was planning on coming down.
I am very happy with the poss pied het that I got from Cypress Creek. I plan to breed him this year and see what comes of it.
