    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Any Suggestions For A Chat Day & Time?

I was just wondering if there were any suggestions for a chat time for ball python owner/breeders? Also do you think we should have a weekly meeting or a monthly meeting? This is for everyone so don't be afraid to give your ideas. :)
 
I like the idea of a weekly chat if you could get enough people involved. What would the format be?

Taking suggestions on the setup, as I do not have alot of experience with chat rooms. :)
 
I personally would like to see a chat time and day set for not only balls,but boas ,and all snakes the day and time can be the same each week.But make a schedule maybe a month ahead with specific topics such as breeding ,housing,feeding and so on that way say someone is looking for advice on housing or something in that category.they can look ahead on a calendar type and see a specific date that that will be discussed ,maybe pick a topic like housing or breeding and set it on the 12th of every month but still have general chat daily but the people that really need help in that special topic now knows what day they can go to get it ,and the more experienced people also know there help would be more needed on that date,and doesn't have to feel obligated to attend every chat..well thats just my two sense in it hope it makes sense it was coming together great in my head hope it came out OK here Thanks and hope to see some kind of chat here since i don't own a ball yet i could use the knowledge
 
I would love to see a breeders chat at some point but knowing the level of mistrust in the industry and the privacy issues, I am not sure its doable. Any thoughts on that in particular?

I know there are people that will be working on similar things in their forums, so you should see some chat activity in boas etc. I am not quite sure how dividing topics will work, but that is a good idea!! :)

I think that would be the best topic for a single monthly chat. As most people with questions usually ask about breeding. Working together with other breeders we can have a sharing of knowledge. I think this is a very good idea and will probably prove to be the biggest chat.

Right now I am leaning towards Wednesday nights or like Sunday afternoons. Let me know which you think would work, I have to go check to see what other forums have chats when.

I love the idea of breeders sharing knowledge. Count me in!

I would love to have a nightly chat, put I think the participation would be really low. Right now I am leaning to a bi-monthly chat, one for husbandry-feeding-housing etc and one for breeding.

If you have a weekly or monthly chat i would be willing to help out answering questions.I have 9yrs experiance with boas,corn snakes and ball python.I breed both corn snakes and ball pythons for the last 2yrs.The only thing i ask is if we could have a sticky or something for a reminder of the time and date.I belong to several sites and i am a moderator on one site so i tend to forget some things :blush:
 
Well......right now I'm lucky to get 1 night a week off, lol....but when we aren't on overtime, I work Sunday night through Thursday night.

Gee that does not give you much time for yourself :unhappy: .I am sure whatever time or day they chose to setup the chat you might be able to pop in now and then.
 
Alright, I think we will start out having a ball python breeding chat Wednesdays at 9 pm Eastern, 8pm Central, 7pm Mountain and 6pm Pacific. If you can't be there at the start, please stop in when you get a chance.

I am also having a chat on 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month(all topics) starting at 8pm Eastern, 7pm Central, 6pm Mountain and 5pm Pacific.

Let me know what you think of this and I will make it a sticky and post specific dates each month.
