In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Anybody heard of Lucus Deisz, LukesLizards?

I have had contact with this guy about buying 2 female jackson chams-both gravid. He gave me a good price and told me that I could either pay by MO or by paypal. This was last Thursday. I was anxious to get them so I did paypal. Well, the money is showing up unclaimed and I have sent him numerous emails with no response. The money is already out of my checking account and I don't know what to do. I am getting in touch with paypal and my bank about getting the money back and hopefully they can help. I know it hasnt' even been a week yet but with no contact I am a bit worried. Anyone know of this guy? Thanks.:(

Not a good experience...

If I remember correctly, I dealt with this guy about a year and a half ago. I purchased 2 supposed CBB Aberrant ball pythons for $45 each, and a supposed Gravid unidentified Rosy Boa for - I forget how much.
The rosy, as usual most times with "possibly gravid" sales, was not. Both balls died the first day. One within an hour, the other in 4 hours. And, you guessed it, wild caught, parasite infested, weak looking animals. I pulled 3 Huge engorged ticks off both of them and saved them as proof.
Not only did it take him, if I remember correctly, MONTHS to finally respond (after giving excuses of car accidents, death in the family, bills, etc...) BUT he then explained that it was his first time buying from an importer - he bought and immediately sold - WITHOUT quarentine, WITHOUT treatment for parasites, WITHOUT assuring they fed - 40 balls or so AND most of his customers called back demanding their money because most of the balls died!
He then stated how he 'wanted to make things right and refund our money'.
Well after several weeks I received a money order for $35. After contacting him, he said it was $17 each - supposedly what he sold them for (funny, I remember paying $45 each for 2 ABERRANT balls ?!?!)
After arguing with him about refunding the price I PAID, not what HE might've paid, he then disappeared. I think he resurfaced months later with some other 'strange' situations...
Just my experience... Joe Rollo

Thanks for the info. I know not to deal with him again. I finally received my 2 female jackson chams(possibly gravid). I do believe one is but the other isn't unless he just bred her. It took about 3 weeks to receive them and he only responded to my emails once. I am taking them to my vet the end of the week. I am keeping them quarentene(sp) til they check out ok. My vet has never delt with reptiles so I will be very careful about watching them for problems. Once again thanks for letting me know of your experience.

Glad it worked out for you!

So at the end of the day, the biggest problem was taking long to respond - which triggers other problems... but he did complete his transaction with you and did try to make things right with me, although not 100%. This effort does show something, so I don't want to totally bash him.
Well glad things worked out for you and I wish you lots of healthy babies! I've actually thought about acquiring some myself here and there.. take care, Joe Rollo
