    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

OK everyone I was contacted from this person today regarding my salmon hypos I have listed under the boa section. He says he is from London England. Has anyone ever dealt with him? How was the experience? Something just doesn't seem right. He is looking for 4 of my babies and said he would set up shipping? since i am in Ohio. I am just looking for experiences good bad or ugly.

When he contacted you did he want you to accept a check and give the rest to his shipper? Beware of the Nigerian scammers as they are back heavily again :angry: .

Kindly get back to me with there final price,the payment will be issued VIA Certified cashier check Drawn on one of the American Banks.

The shipping will be handle by us so you dont need to calculate the shipment with the Final price .

Its the Nigerian scammers trying to rip you off .Tell him to send you the check and have your bank check it out.It will be worthless no doubt
 
Scams...

How many people do you know who use the word 'kindly?' That is always a dead give-away for a Nigerian scammer. Second to that, is the use of the term 'final price.' Run now-and quickly.

Just for kicks, have him send you a check....you'll get an e-mail almost immediately that his "contact" sent too much and he needs you to deposit the check and wire him the balance....if you actually did this, it would take a few days to find out the check's a fake, and you'll be out the $$.

Report him to KS...they will promptly do nothing....then call your local FBI office (mine was in Newark, NJ)....they will also promptly do nothing.....bang head on desk.
 
This all started yesterday and I just wanted everyones input I will wait for the next set of emails I get from him and go from there. I am new to the hobby by 3 yrs or so and definately new to having babies. (first litter) Just not looking to get screwwed is all.

It's a scam there is no doubt.
 
Billy would seem to me to be an unlikely Surname. His sentence structuring does not seem to be like that of an Englishman. Most of all, the Forestry title sounds nonsensical. If you were buying snakes from someone would you put your job title in the correspondence?
 
Hey guys this is the latest email I have from this person... I do believe you all are right about this guy but I will let him send the check and have my bank look at it or even the FBI out of cleveland. to check the funds if they will. But i am almost certain it will be fake. Our reply to him is under his email.

Thanks so much for your response, I want you know that my Client will making the payment via Cashier's check and this will include the shipping firms fee, All you have do is get the payment cashed deduct the Payment for the pets and send the rest to the Shipping firm who will be coming for the pick up of the pets.

Edward, as soon as I get the check I will take it to my bank and deposit it. When it clears my bank I will set up a shipping date and only if it clears. This is due to issues I have had in the past, I am not trying to say your a bad person. But the check will have to clear before any shipping will be done and you need to specify which 4 of the snakes you want. so I can place them on hold. Also please just send the money for the snakes. YOU need to send the money to the shipping company NOT me. Please also let me know what shipping company you plan on using so I can make sure they are able to handle the shipment of reptiles. I want to make sure my animals will be shipped correctly and arrive safe and happy.

Beware... the bank will make funds available, but the check will be worthless. When the check goes back to the bank of origin, that's when it will be found to be fake... that's when your bank will then take back the money plus fees.

You can't say folks didn't warn you.

If you do get any check from this Nigerian, frame it with a plaque reading "Scammer Check". Don't go near a bank with it or you'll lose money in bad check return fees at the very least.
