In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm getting really big into crested geckos now and its kind of difficult because i have all of these heat loving reptiles. I live in a 2 BR condo and the 2nd BR is our reptile room, which has to stay shut for the safety of our cats. The inhabitants are our boas, leos, and cresties. So right now I have the four crested eggs in a gladware container just sitting on top of the crested tank. I'm afraid that during the day its getting a little too warm for the eggs, especially as the temp is starting to warm up here in San Diego. I've considered moving the eggs into another part of the house but the temp is definitely more consistent in the reptile room. Any suggestions?

Maybe just set them on a shelf in your bedroom. Temp fluctuations are not as awful as you might think, as long as they are not sudden. I used to incubate all of my Rhacodactylus eggs on a shelf in my bedroom closet and the temps ranged from 68-75 depending on the time of year. Temps fluctuated too; it was a bit cooler at night. Hatched out lots of baby Rhacs like that.

I normally just incubate my eggs on a shelf also. It is normaly for eggs to have a temperture flux, it happens in the wild, they do not need to maintain a constant temp at all times. But if you are finding your eggs are getting too warm, the room going to 80 degrees constantly, you will need to find a way to cool them because if the temps get to high, they hatch out to early then you have issues like not fully formed yet. SO if you are finding that to be a problem, something like a small styrofoam cooler may help keep the air temp constant in there, and you can monitor it with either a wireless thermometers, or a prob thermometer. Otherwise if you are still having issue, you may have to invest in an incubator that both heats and cools. But like I and kellih said, so long as they maintain a temp in the higher 60's to mid 70's you are fine.
