Now I know that Jeff is a resident of Minnesota and that someone said the IP address is from MN as well, but I am reasonably sure that although Minnesota is sparsely populated, there are at least a FEW people there other than Jeff that keep herps! Any one of them could be the sender of the mail too. Try to keep this in mind.

I think you forgot to mention
There are two ways to reply to ads on KS.

1. it is as anonymous and you enter your e-mail addy.
2. is is as a logged on user.

He got a reply from a logged on user.
the logged on user's name is BOAPHILE.

I can't fathom for the life of me how you can't see that.

It was sent by someone logged into the screen name boaphile.

You must understand you have not gotten en ough e-mails to know that he has or has had many different IP

The IP to the reply for that ad 170.215.45.254
The IP to ONE (1) of the e-mails I have gotten 170.215.45.172

The IP to the e-mails YOU probably have 67.50.69.198
The point is he has access to many different IP and they all trace to MN.
Actually to be specific the IP I obtained from him all trace to fronteir.net.
But one of his e-mails traces to charter.net

You see I consider him a friend........BUT.....I will not pretend to be blind for him or for anyone.

I still think he is just joking around and pulling Alan's chain. That is my personal opinion.
I know he got me good when he joked around with me. Either that or I am just gullible. But it is all just in fun.

Ritchie, if such really is the case and this is all a joke started by Jeff and if I were the recipient of the "humor" I would consider it license to poke fun right back. I do not know if Alan and Jeff are friends, but if they are I would say "let the games begin!"
If I were not friendly with someone and got an e-mail like that I'd simply contact them and say I owe you one.

Clarification . . . .

Ok let me say this i am not mad about this ordeal as i know that i have not wronged anyone in my years of buying , selling anything online . Jeff and I have never spoken on the phone , in person or any other means of communications what so ever that i can recall and i do have a pretty good memory. I to think it is a practical joke and yes i do have a sense of humor and i do play practical jokes on my FRIENDS but they are in good faith and without any intended malice its all in " fun" The thing when playing or pulling practical jokes on people you do not know or have never spoke with is you dont realize how they will take your intended bit of fun.I realized this was a charade when i checked my records and could find nothing of value to uphold the claim, i made this post to see if anyone in the herp community knew of the person i asked about.I dont intend on getting back or oweing anyone anything but quaility cages & service as such should be expected.But if this was all in just " fun in games" i can overlook that and say " hey hes a real jokester" hah ha.What would be nice to see is either a email or other ( phone call saying hey Alan im sorry i didnt realize you would take the joke they way you did ) i pride myself and buisness ethics on my word and what i do for people so untill one of those two things are done it begs to question the actual charchter of the person/s responsible. I am not making accusations or pointing fingers at anyone individual i have simply provided visual proofs of what i have recieved in coralation with some things others have posted.Again i dont expect everyone to beleive what is posted nor do i actually care at this point what any beleive or do not beleive .I do have a phone number i will be calling this evening to talk to someone personally who might shed light on this entire ordeal and solve it once and for all .Like anyone would do when a practical joke is played you really want to know who was the jokester thats all i want nothing more nothing less and as i stated i have no need or desiree to ( owe them one )

Looking at this situation from the outside...

There is a clear and logical chain of evidence to connect the emails to Jeff.

They were sent to a competitor who he is not overly familiar with. Meaning, while there was no animosity, it's not a situation where the people involved have been friends for years and the business rivalry is secondary to a long term friendship.

If it was a joke... I don't get it at all. It looks like a poorly thought out but malicious attack on some up and coming competition.

On the other hand though, it's not an individual who has a reputation for the sort of juvenile nonsense that such an attack would indicate.

If it's a joke... Someone better show up and explain it. Like... the person who pulled it. Hopefully it'll be accompanied by an apology, as it clearly wasn't taken in a humerous fashion.

After see everything that has been layed out on the table it seems to me that it's jeff.
My only question is why is it every time i see his name it is srounded by some type of big ordeal? ok, i know i'm new in this field, but isn't that strange? i know it has left a bad idea in my little head about ihim.

Well, I guess I can't say 100% for sure who it is. I know what the "evidence" might lead people to thing. So, has anyone actually told Jeff of this thread or even emailed and asked if he actually did it? It's would be sad to "accuse" someone of or "form opinions about" without the person you're "accusing or forming opinions" about doesn't know about it. I just think there's still a piece of the puzzle missing. I guess that's my 2 cents on this subject.

I spoke with Jeff earlier this week and he said that he knew nothing of the matter. It is my understanding that Jeff does not use profanity so the language in one of the e-mails clued me that it was not him. Jeff personally told me that althogh he does know of Alan Hall, but he has never knowingly spoken to him.

I hope that Alan has found out the real person behind the e-mail, because it seems to be important to him, but I truly believe that Jeff was not the source of it.

My thoughts of this matter

Ok here are my thoughts ....
Although i have NOT accused this to be Jeff Ronne i have simply laid out evidence that would point into that direction.I am by no means a guro of computers , i have little knowledge of more then many of the programs i use on a daily basis so the IP tracing is new to me .BUT i do under stand how a IP systems has a basic working of .

the first two groups of numbers tell you the system, then the last two will tell you which individual computer on that system

This is a IP address pulled from a Boaphile plastics add
boaphile 170.215.16.245

This is the IP address received from the kingsnake add with the username Boaphile

Boaphile 170.215.15.254

This would indicate the same system IE Kingsnake.com emailer system probably

Here are some IP addresses i got from someone who had recieved emails from ronne:
67.50.69.198
170.215.45.172

Email that i received from username Boaphile
170.215.45.254

now if you notice the last two sets of numbers differ by the last group of numbers being .172 & .254
so with the limited knowledge i have of this it would stand to indicate that atleast the same system was used and that the same computer based system sent the email. When a group of computers are on a router each computer is assigned a unique IP address this can be done by the " out of the box setting which would be global or you can reassign your own unique IP address this is to keep anyone with a wireless laptop from driving by and accessing your system IE your connection to the internet.

Now NOWHERE have i yet to accuse Jeff Ronne Of sending these emails , but If it were me that had this amount of evidence pointing to indicate that this was received from me or by the likes of me letting someone have passwords to the accounts provided if they did not send the email then i would be in contact with atleast Kingsnake to see who gained access to my account and sign in to falseify this email .I can understand where someone would say " its notme i dont cuss " but with the pryor knowledge of pranks / practical jokes played people will do things they wouldnt do on a normal basis IE the meaning of a practical joke .So i would ask that Mr Ronne have kingsnake look into the use of his username in conjunction with the email sent as if they did it to me wonder how many other have had it happen and this inturn could reflect on ronnes reputation.i will personally call mr KS and ask to have a background done on this email and the entry of ronnes username done after this post and find out from who i need to pursue this matter with in KS to find out who did send this email from their system using ronnes login name .
untill then i have lil to add to this i will also look into the use of the hotmail account as harrasing emails and let them start thier own investigation into this matter

Update

I have just got off the phone with JB of KS
I will be forwarding in the form of attachements all emails to his complaints Dept . I was told they could pull server files on the date that this was sent .But would have to be contacted by a gov. agency so if no one takes claim to this "joke" then i will simply pursue this as harrasment over the internet and contact a gov agency that would have the ability to have all this information gathered and released to me .For anyone who thinks this is still a joke thats fine but i will not sit back and have anyone think that i havent a clue or will be subjected to anyone forming a opinion as to me making a false accustation so once the ball gets rolling i will kepp this thread updated with information uncovered by KS complaints and there server logs on who the person was that sent the emial from their system and this will wipe away the doubting thomas's as when the log they pull comes back attached to the [email protected] account and who ever it was that was logged in under the KS username boaphile then i will at that time let that person or person explain the eveidence presented ... untill then i will not be posting anything else that will be taken out of context .. and will let what is found speak for itself .

The person was signed in using the secure information of boaphile. That =
is as much as you can depend on. Anyone can put in any email address in =
the return and there is no way to know if it the real thing. I've =
received some rather obscene emails thru the system with bogus email =
addresses. So I would not put a lot of weight on the email address =
given on the communication thru the kingsnake system. =20

Beyond that, there is little that I can tell you. Superficially I do =
not see any correlation that you are looking for. Anything beyond that =
would violate the federal privacy laws that we are bound by. If =
harassing emails were received thru the kingsnake system, I would be =
able to take action internally but I can't do anything about the ones =
received through Hotmail. That would be something that they would have =
to deal with.

Well so now that we know the first message was not a faked signin or username that was sent from the KS system as this was just PROVEN to be a authenic signed in username with the secure information of the Boaphile

so now we have PART 1 proven

i will be working on confirming the email address of [email protected] in my spare time and will post the info that both hotmail returns & the internet providers that these email have been traced back to...

keep on doubting thomas...
