I have been looking into getting another female Leo to add to my collection. I've narrowed it down to two, but can't decide which. I am no good at making decisions, especially when it comes to getting a new Leo! One is a Tremper albino that looks like she could possibly be a hybino, as her bands are fading with each shed.(Though her color is only a pale orange.) The other is a full stripe, het for Tremper Striped Albino. (She has a complete Stripe going from head to tail.) I was just wondering which one you Leo experts think would be the best investment? Any help would be appreciated! :spinner03 :spinner03

$17.00 or a pair of choppers . . . .

Hybino's are cool - but as far as investments (haha) go - solid, bold stripes always seem to hold their value well - around 60-85 bucks.

But what do I know . . . :shrug01:

Monte...

what would you know? lol j/k I too would like to find out more info on the market and the market value on the stripe/jungle.

Well, speaking as one who was accused . . .

. . . of trying to corner the striped market on the KS leo forum (which was a laugh in itself) - it's my opinion that GOOD bold stripes will always command a nice price - 60-85 bucks. In my opinion, that's very realistic.

You can go with the hot morphs, but you really have to be on the top of your game, thinking 3 moves ahead - in order to make some dough. You also have to lay out an ton of ching . . .

Of course, you could maybe swing a deal with a big breeder with the latest morphs - buying in lots and selling them as your own for a nice profit (I've heard of people doing that more than once) - but you have to know people who are willing to do that.

That's why I like the stripes and jungles - they are always fun - always something new - and are able to bring back a reasonable price.

It's hard to pin a market value because the values of morphs fluctuate drastically every year.

Personally I think there's more potential with a nice stripe. You can cross it with any of the albino strains, tangs, or even with another stripe. With a hybino, you can cross it with a tang to improve the color, maybe work on adding the carrot-tail, but that's it.

Maybe, if you are lucky, They will be het for APTOR.

Or is that the other way around - I forget!! LOL

The thing I like about jungles is that the pattern is almost always changing; making each animal uniqe. Sp? lol

i have seen stripes go from $25-$100 all depending on the color or other things.

k&n reptiles right now has a very unique stripe leo for $100 thats het for tremper albino. it would make a awesome project....

I just sold some bold stripes for $70 to $80. I sold a few nice stripes for $75 or so. Depends. Often I wont sell a single stripe, like I did for a month. Then I got to the atlanta show and sold 3 nice ones. I have had luck with buying wholesale lots as Monte mentioned. I havent gotten my hands on any 16way het APTORs though. You just have to have friends I guess.. or someone you've spent a lot of money with before to get a good deal.

I'll sell you a stripe for a good set of choppers..
