In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone seen a pastel like this?

I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but this guy is orange. I've seen really nice bright yellow pastels, I've seen pastels that are browned out on top but still have a nice yellow on the sides, but this boy is something different.

He has a brown top and then a very noticeable contrast on his sides, which are not yellow at all but a deep, beautiful orange color. He was purchased as a pastel a few years ago and I have no reason to believe he's anything else, but just wondering if there are any other orange pastels out there?

We're probably going to pair him next year and see if his offspring have the same coloring, but I'd love to find an unrelated female with similar colors to breed with him. I have ZERO intention of breeding him with his offspring as I am very against that, so please refrain from that discussion (I honestly get angry when people even suggest it, inbreeding established morphs is a despicable practice as far as I'm concerned).

Oh, and I'm not trying to say I have something new or amazing, I've just never seen one like him and wondering if anyone has (like I said, I'd love to find him a lady :p)

He's really very orange for a grown up pastel! Hope you find a nice bright girl for him. Not a fan of the name though. HUNGRY!! :)

Lol...Victoria loves to name things after food. We have a het pied named 'cucumber', another named 'pumpkin', and her cat is named 'noodle'.

We almost named one of the snakes 'burnt toast' but decided against it.

Looks like an orange dream pastel.

Honestly, my first thought was orange dream...after I looked at a bunch of pictures though I just don't see it. I suppose if he pops out pastels and orange babies we'll know for sure, but I really think he's just a very odd pastel.

That is one of the prettiest pastels I've seen in a long time! I think you'll have some trouble finding him a single gene pastel female that's as nice as he is. Do you know what pastel line he's from?

Thank you for saying that :) We have no idea what line he's from. I could probably contact the breeder, but it's been so long I'm not sure if they could even tell me. Victoria purchased him at an expo a few years ago before she had any plans to breed. She said the guy selling him was surprised because they'd been to a couple shows already and no one had bought him, they knew he was different but couldn't guarantee anything genetically beyond the pastel.

We have a few pastel combos that are nice, bright yellows, but there's something about the contrast on this boy and the orange color that makes him really stand out. I wish I knew what was going on with him, I was hoping someone on here had seen something similar. I'd love to produce some more pastels with his color, I'm hoping it's genetic and not just an anomaly.

Keep me in the loop when he produces some offspring. I'd like to buy a male pastel that he produces and pair it with my female mojave and make some pastaves that pop!

Almost has a 4 leaf clover on head like enchi pastel, very cool looking nonetheless, good luck..

You might actually be onto something...I think I passed off pastel enchi initially because most pictures you see are much cleaner (as in taken when they're babies). I just checked again and that might actually be the case. We're not pairing him this year but definitely will be next year, guess I'll find out for sure at that point. He'll probably go to a normal or a single gene pastel, that way I won't have any question as to what offspring he's producing.

I'd love it if he was single gene and just an awesome variation pastel color, but I wouldn't complain if he ended up being two gene either :p. Good looking out, I'm definitely going to keep that in mind.
