Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Yikes! Are you sure? Shipping is hard enough as it is. Now they will have to be shipped back to her and then shipped back again to the proper owner.

This does not look good. How do you mess up that bad?

Well compared to the possibility of them floating around for a week in a warehouse... yes. That is what I was referring to. Not them never being shipped.

Yeah, well it's just a bad scene all together.

Please read my post, Post #231 for details regarding what happened.

Mr. Bennett was given the option of a refund, since the whereabouts of his reptiles is currently unknown. I offered him a refund last night and just now received an e-mail from him stating that he will accept a refund, so apparently we are going to be able to work this matter out privately.

Yeah, I read it but it still doesn't answer my question. You should know where all these animals are at by tracking, correct?

Coincidences, mistakes, hurricanes and misfortunes can only hinder your carelessness so much. What's really going on?

It should answer your question, I just re-read it and it seems that it would answer the question you asked. To make it a little plainer/simpler: I had to depend on someone else to package and ship the reptiles because I was very sick. I do know that everyone *except* Mr. Bennett received a package; however, after talking this over with Damien, he has tried to explain to me what went where and it seems as if, although he was trying to help me, he really got everything mixed up. There were a LOT of reptiles involved and it seems that some were confused for others, etc. These were NOT all ball pythons, there were reptiles of all types and sizes, snakes and lizards.

I didn't want to delay shipping AGAIN to all of these people who were expecting reptiles, just because I was sick. There had already been delays due to a tropical storm, a hurricane, extreme heat, and my FedEx account being locked up briefly. I knew that Monday was a perfect day to ship because our high was supposed to be only 88 (with a milder heat index) and was supposed to be a LOT higher the rest of the week (with heat indexes in the 104 and up area). I took a risk that my fiance would get everything sent according to my instructions, but things got messed up, I am assuming because there were so many. As I said before, Damien is not a reptile person, this has always been my thing. Although he messed up, I take full responsibility for it, since I am the one who is supposed to be dealing with the reptiles.

FYI, Mr. Gilbert did receive his refund today and e-mailed me telling me so.

Since I am working these issues out privately with the 3 people involved, I do not feel it is necessary to continue posting and re-hashing this thread over and over here unless any of the 3 people directly involved feel it is necessary further. I have enough to deal with regarding the outpatient surgery I am going to have to have tomorrow morning, my upcoming move, job hunting and trying to get things back in order with my life in general.

Sometimes I am really slow to pick things up, but I'm still confused. Since apparently Aprylla has answered all these concerns, I invite anyone who has figured this out to point me in the direction of the correct answer.

1) Mr. Bennet, the one who posted above, received no package. I have my copy of the shipping form here, but there is no record with FedEx as to it being shipped. I am still trying to figure out what happened because his package went out, but now I have no idea who it went to, so now on top of everything else I have 7 snakes apparently "missing" here. I will also contact him privately to work this matter out.
So where are those 7 snakes? Still at Aprylla's? In a box somewhere? They couldn't have been simply shipped to the wrong person, because then FedEx would have a record of it. If Damian had a tracking number, he must have put it on something, right?

Then I'm confused again about the FedEx account being frozen.
FedEx will only ship live reptiles for
account holder in good standing, and right now they do not consider me an account holder since my account is on hold and is not considered in good standing since they submitted a $37.15 bill to my account that
wasn’t paid because PayPal had frozen my account and my PayPal debit/credit card would not go through. I have paid FedEx back for the $37.15 with a check, but they won't re-instate my account until my debit/credit card will be able to be charged again. I just talked to my rep and she verified all of this for me for sure. She said that unless I have an active account (secured with a credit card) I can only send shipments which contain regular goods. Ok, everyone knows how screwy FedEx is, but I didn’t even know about this until recently myself.
But the PayPal account wasn't frozen until 7/18 or 7/19, and the reason this whole mess blew up was because nothing could be shipped since 7/5/05:
7/5/05 - Storm Cindy came ashore, very near us. We had flooding rains and did have some flooding in our house. Our power was sporadic and I was able to connect to the internet only with dial-up, but I did manage to get an e-mail to the Buyer with my PayPal address, since it appeared he didn’t have the correct one. I had other reptiles I was supposed to ship this day and couldn’t due to the bad weather
So FedEx tried to bill something after 7/18/05 that shipped prior to 7/1/05 (considering the holiday), and the PayPal account was frozen by then and that caused the FedEx account to be frozen? I am only questioning this because I have an account with FedEx, and my credit card is billed the day after I ship.

So, someone please explain to me what I'm missing.

My FedEx account has nothing to do with the fact that nothing got shipped on 7/5/05 or for several days after that. We had a tropical storm come through, followed not long after by a Hurricane (as was explained in my very first post on this thread). My FedEx account wasn't frozen until after my PayPal account was. My FedEx account rep's manager allowed me to ship last Monday (August 1st) using a cashier's check, instead of having the charges billed to my account, since my PayPal account is *still* "limited" (frozen) due to PayPal being very, very slow to do anything even though the complaint was cancelled. So right now, my FedEx account is also still in "limbo" but I am allowed to ship with the permission of FedEx, so long as I pay in advance with a cashier's check or the like.

FYI, I did ship out several reptiles (the ones that had survived the evacuation and were still in good shape) the day after I returned from the hurricane evacuation (I believe this was on July 14th). I also shipped another reptile out on July 17th or 18th and that is the one FedEx tried to bill for and the charge was refused.

So the only problem with shipping reptiles from July 5th through July 13th was the fact of the tropical storm, and then the hurricane and the issues during evacuation (see my first post on this thread for full details).

Hope that clears up that part of your question.

Apparently, the 7 snakes were put into someone else's package, ALONG with other reptiles that were being sent. I talked to my regular FedEx driver today who told me he was the one who picked up the packages last Monday. He is a driver that I trust that has been picking up reptiles here for nearly 2 years, so I know he didn't "take" the package and just not scan it . Had it been any other driver that occasionally does my route I would have been suspicious that a driver had taken it, but I know that is not the case.

I called FedEx today to discuss this, and was told that my cashier's check was for $43.04 more than what it should have been for. $43.04 is exactly the cost I noted on the info for Mr. Bennett's package's cost to be shipped. So I am certain now that there is no package "in limbo".

As for where the snakes are, that is a really good question. I have not had anyone come forward to say they received any extra reptiles they didn't pay for. And I have e-mailed everyone to whom a package was sent to ask, and to plead with them that if they did receive extra reptiles to please let me know so that I could arrange to get them back.

The only reason I have a tracking number is because I always use the old style "3 copy carbon" type FedEx shipping forms as opposed to using the online printing method for shipping forms. This has been the best way for me to ship, since it allows me to keep a good "hard copy" of the shipping form for quick reference.

No, that doesn't answer my question.

You could have shipped on 7/14. 7/15 was a Friday, so the next possible shipping day was on 7/18.

I don't think FedEx froze your account because your PayPal was frozen. I think if you shipped via FedEx, it didn't go through because you had no money in your PayPal account. On 7/14 (the day you shipped the package), you wrote:

Subject: RE: Message about: 2005 Female Ball Pythons, Holdbacks, EMERGENCY SALE $25 Each

There was a problem that occurred during the time I
evacuated for the hurricane. The majority of the
reptiles I took with me, about half of them (mostly
ball pythons plus one bearded dragon), have died. I
will have to guess that it is because of the extreme
heat with them (and me) being stranded in a broken
down car for almost 2 days. I did all I could to cool
them and myself during the trip, including taking the containers to shady areas, etc. When the wrecker picked up my car and me, I even left the windows down in transit so that air could flow and allow the reptiles to be cooled some. Unfortunately, some of the reptiles had died before I got home. This morning several others had passed, possibly also due to stress. I wish now that I had just stayed home, or at least left the reptiles here. However, when I left there was a mandatory evacuation order for my area and a Category 4 hurricane looked like it was going to make a direct hit on us.

Anyway, here is what I can offer at this point. The
same guy I purchased these babies from has several
more (and does have many females) that I will be able
to go and get from him the last weekend in July (2
weeks from tomorrow basically). I would be able to
send all of the female ball pythons to you and ship on
Monday, August 1st. These are all very well
established, feeding on thawed frozen, cb, etc. Most
were hatched early to mid-June. I am going to make a
trade with Donnie to get these, but he has assured me
is will hold onto these for me. I have done business
with him for over 3 years and have known him even
longer. If I could go pick these snakes up sooner I
would, but finances won't allow it right now
unfortunately.

In the alternative, I can refund your money if you
would like. However, please note that it will
possibly be June 29th before I can send a refund.
That will be the first time that I know for sure I
will have enough $$$ to send you a full refund. To be
honest with you, right now my bank account is
seriously overdrawn and I had to borrow $$$ from a
family member just to get my car towed home when it
broke down.

Also, since you paid through PayPal, obviously you are
free to file through them for a refund. I am not sure
how that works, but I am guessing that they would just
refund your $$ and make my PayPal account a negative
balance since there aren't any funds in it.

So if you shipped on 7/14, there were no funds in your PayPal to cover the FedEx.

I think maybe you missed something, I couldn't ship Mr, Gilbert the snakes after I got back from the hurricane evacuation because a lot of the reptiles I had taken with me had died (or were not looking too great) when I got back with them. So obviously I couldn't ship something I didn't have.

The only funds I had in my PayPal account were the funds needed to cover the packages I was shipping through FedEx. Obviously, I could not send that $$$ to Mr. Gilbert that day because I was using the funds that I did have for paying for the packages to be shipped out. Had I not shipped out the packages that I did on the 14th, there would have been an even larger issue.
