• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Aprylla Hall- Owes me Racks!!!!

Now she is claiming she has no idea what you are talking about and trying to make it look like you are attempting to scam her out of money!?!?!

What a load of crap!

I think a lot of folks here were very considerate of her situation when stories like yours arose in the past about her. Situations like hurricane Katrina and having to relocate to a new state and losing this and losing that and parents falling ill and working late shifts and blah blah blah blah blah.

She got hit by a train? LOL.

What about a helicopter? Anybody get hit by a helicopter lately?

It actually seemed like she was trying to get to the bottom of things at the start. Broken communication is a bad sign, though. Good luck, and it looks like you sent an e-check. Try contacting your bank as well.

Considering it was her paypal the $ was sent to I think the bottom of things is rather clear, not responding to further emails from the OP makes it even clearer. Claiming there's no record of the transaction in paypal while the op is seeing the record of said transaction in his account, you would need to be pretty gullible to believe her ramblings. Hit by a train......ya, I was hit by a learjet just yesterday too!

Just to let everyone know, she has at least 3 or maybe more ebay accounts under various different names and email address's. None of which are active anymore (no longer registered), including one with 3,379 transactions, and a few of those which the buyers had posted negative feedback for non-receipt of goods.

How odd, eh?

have you tried contacting paypal with this? I know its very long passed, but it can't hurt to try.

Hi,

Yes I tried contacting paypal, around a year ago and they say a claim has to be made within a 2 month time-frame of the payment. I wasn't planning on picking up the racks until 3 months or so after I sent payment, as I was about to move when I bought them and the original plan was to meet up in the Northern Atlanta area, as she too was suppose to be moving to I think around the Dalton area.

Looking back at it now it probably wasn't the brightest thing to do (too much faith in humanity I guess:rolleyes:). I am only going to get my money back if Aprylla decides to do so, kinda at her mercy in the hopes she will do the right thing. But at this point I am just looking at this as a loss (thankfully not a more expensive one) as it has been sometime since the transaction. To my knowledge she is out of reptiles/her mind (good ridance) but in case she ever wants to get back into them, this thread will be here.

Thanks,
Derek Dunlop

They don't put ss# on medical cards and I don't see how anyone cashed her check. She's responsible even if someone used her account! Maybe the train stole her identity!

I think you lost out on this one, but I do wish you luck!

Sniff, sniff....this really stinks! It did seem like she was trying to be helpful (although that may have been farfetched). I did become very clear very quickly that this was not the case!

I believe they are yes. I knew before I sent her any money, she gave me a link to her ebay rating page and like you see everything looks to check out and all her customers are happy.

Though apparently she is only capable of dealing with small bill items.

Thanks Derek

But then why open a new account with ebay when you already had one with 3,379 feedback's? Some of those feedback's were not positive - complaints of non receipt of goods. Is it possible that her account was closed as a result of those complaints? Is she now circumventing ebay's policy by opening a new account?

Considering ebay and paypal are together owned, I think paypal might be interested in knowing this information as well.

This could be some leverage for you.

:iagree: Chuck has an EXCELLENT point!

But Why?

The big question is Why? why would she contact you after all this time giving the appearance that she wants to make things right? This thread had sunk, she is out of the reptile hobby/business, and other than a few emails here and there, why would she bother to re-visit this if she had no intention of fixing things? something is not adding up for me. It seems like she clammed up on you this time after she got what she wanted. maybe i am just reallllllllly skeptical of people, BUT WHAT WAS SHE AFTER??
perhaps you should really watch your paypal account, i dont know what kind of info could be gleaned from what you sent her, but something doesnt add up for me, and i would hate to see someone get taken twice by the same scammer.
good luck

I just got off the phone with both paypal and ebay regarding this. Unfortunately all they could do was add a note to her account, so even if 20 other people also complain about the same thing, they will investigate her account and at worst shut down her account (a slap on the wrist) but will not refund any of the money that was involved in the investigation.

Thanks Derek
