In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So, I've been looking at buying myself another snake. One of the main one's I'm looking at is a IJ carpet python, but nothing available for the moment.

Also interested in arboreals: ATBs, ETBs, GTPs. One of the things I'm nervous about keeping this boas is their critical requirement for high humidity.

I just want to hear from you guys who own any of these boas, how you find the husbandry requirements of your snakes..whether it's as tricky as it's made out to be..whether it's a pain in the butt etc.

Come across so many website that contradict each other. Would really appreciate your input!

Thanks!
Skunk!

It really depends on the person and the setup. I've had many years keeping high-humidity scorpions from the same locations in fishtanks, and have adapted many of my same methods to the world of treeboas. So, for me, it was easy.

So what would you suggest/advise is a good setup..in terms of holding humidity well, and being sufficiently ventilated? Barring the $250+ cages available! :D

i actually recently picked up one of the extra large exoterra terrariums for about $50-off. I was holding off mostly because of cost and weight, but it is working out well. There are other cage manufacturers with similarly sized cages that are cheaper still (junglehabitats is the first to come to mind at under $140 shipped)

Thanks for tips..cant seem to find Junglehabitats anywhere online though..do you have a URL at all?

junglehabitatsplastics.com/index.html

doesn't have a pic of the 2x2x2 cage, but its very similar to the 2x2x2 incubator he has a pic of...

Excellent..thanks for the link Isaac.

Tell me, can you keep an adult GTP/ATB/ETB in a 2x2x2 cage?

Hi I currently have 2 Exotera 18X18X24 enclosures already setup for arboreal snakes, with PVC perches . they work great the only thing you have to do is cover the most of the top with acrylic to keep humidity levels right. I know this isnt the classifieds but I will be selling them for $150 (75 each) plus shipping . Let me know if you are interested.

If the cage doesnt come with perches..how do you put a perch in the cage without drilling massive holes into the cage?

I may be interested in a cage..any idea on shipping costs to GA 30605?

If you think about it 18x18x24 isnt a whole lot of room considering you may have a 5-6' snake on your hands. I take it arboreals dont need the space that terrestrial snakes do then?

18X18X24 will house an adult chondro fine as they spend most of there time on a branch however it is best to provide a bigger area for them if you have the means. as some chondros like to lay on the cage floor on occasion, and become active at night as well. I have sub adults in the exos now and work well , However I have built custom cages for my adults using Greg Maxwells plans on his site as this is an Ideal Housing for these guys for viewing and husbandry needs. Proper care can also be given in a rubbermaid or sterilite tub which actually is best suited to provide the needs your chondro requires. but arent attractive at all. It really depends on how much room you have available and budget you are wanting to work with.

Thanks Ryan..and please do get back to me on the shipping costs for those Exo Terras (any pics of them with the PVC perches?)

well I guess I sent Fauna some pictures. LOL I thought I was replying to you but apparently they just send an email when there is a response. What is your email address and I will send them again. Mine is [email protected] if you dont want yours to be public..

Just mailed you now Ryan...

LOL..just looked at Greg Maxwell's site for building those adult cages..they look beautiful, but for the life of me I cant actually see how you get into it ie..open the cage!! :D

LOL. They are sliding door tracks .. and he removed them to take that shot, They slide back and forth and are easily removed for cleaning and such real similar to a shower door, just smaller.

I have Jungle Habitats cages for my ATBs & ETBs - 2x2x2 and 2x18x2. I think that ATBs are the most forgiving of keeper errors, and might, therefore, be a better choice for a first arboreals snake...and they come in so many pretty colors, lol
