    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Are Argentine Boa's good tempered and how big do they get?

I have 2 Argentine Boas and the female is 4 years old and she's at 7' 2" and still growing. The male will be here tomorrow and he's about 6' long and about the same age as the female.

My female is very tame... she has only hissed at me once and has necer once tried to strike me even while she got a shot of baytril today she was fine. I think they are just a little nippy when they're young but if you handle them enough they will become very tame but then again there are the few bad apples who just won't relax.

they are very hissy as babies but it is mostly bluff however i have gotten bit a couple times... our adults are very handlable once they are outside their enclosure and only hiss if you happen to disturb them while they are eating.. our female is around 6 or 7 feet and out male is 6... as they age they get quite girthy. i think people totally underestimate argies they are great little guys with lots of personality and just gorgeous.

Argies are some of the tamest boas I have ever worked with, they just like to "talk" a little more than your average colombian. Robin is completely right about them being girthy. An eight foot Argie is like a twelve ft retic. They are the most impressive of all boas as adults, with the possible exception of Peruvians.

In my experience, Argentines have proven to be quite docile.
I currently maintain a group of 1.2 adults and one yearling. I have previously worked with an entire litter of newborn babies and all of them have been extremely easy to handle.

The Argentines are an impressive boa and I recommend them to anyone interested in something a little outside of the normal fare.

In my opinion Argies are the same as any other snake in which it depends on the individual snake. I've seen some possessedd bci's and calm as can be Argies and Hogs. As long as you handle them on a regular basis when young most will calm down nicely. I've had a few neo and yearly argies come thru and even thou they may sound evil, it's usually all bluff
