    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Are there different brands or sizes of 4" heat tape?

I have some Calorique brand 4" flex-watt that is exactly 3 & 31/32" wide. I'm wondering if there is another brand or type of "4 inch" heat tape that might be a little narrower.

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I honestly don't even know if there's more than one brand of heat tape... :slamit:

To my knowledge that is it. The old brand name we still use "flexwatt" doesn't actually apply any longer. As I understand it the Calorique company now owns the product.
They do make a 3" tape.

Paul that would be considered 4" heat tape:) Non of their elements is exactly 3, 4, 6, or 11".. Pretty much a closest to kind of thing.. I have looked around for different suppliers and havent found anyone but calorique..

OK, nevermind. I couldn't get the 4" stuff that I have to fit into my new racks and I thought that I had bought the wrong stuff. I wasn't aware of a different brand of heat tape either, but I have seen ads/comments regarding one rack manufacturer's "lower wattage flexwatt" and thought that maybe there were different brands and I had the wrong one.

Anyway, the rack mfg. called me (on a Sunday, nonetheless) and we got it straightened out. I was just being a dolt and didn't realize I was putting it in wrong. So, all is well.

(Matt, I'm going to need more heat tape. lol)
