In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Are these prices way high?

I saw these prices at the local selling-everything pet shop who I buy fish from.
I've never seen any others to compare except in pictures, which accentuate colors and such, but these didn't look too spectacular. The pastel colors were dull and indistinguishable even in the same tank next to the normal ones..
Does the price highly depend on the individual specimen's appearance?

Adult Albino Ball Python $1000.00
Adult Pastel Ball Python $400.00
Baby Pastel Ball Python $300.00
Normal Ball Python Baby or Adult $80.00

Are they male or female?
How large/old are they?
Are they proven breeders?

99% of the petstores will be priced higher than what you can get online or at a show but if those are proven breeder females, the adult albino and adult pastel are not out of line.

There is a sticker on each tank that says something like this:
Pastel Ball Python $399.99
Nothing about gender, age, or anything else.
The albino and pastel are both about 2.5ft just judging by what I see, not sure what age range they would be put in.
All other info I would have to inquire with the owner who's always at the front counter, im going to ask next time out of curiousity..

For a blah adult male pastel, that is high; for a female, it would be low (you can probably bet its a male).
For the albino, it's a bit high, but not horribly so...depends on what you call and adult.
For a baby pastel, that's high.
Normal, baby or adult, that's a trick question, lol. Too many variables to consider.

Keep in mind, you are talking about a pet store. They pay for the space, they pay utilities, they pay employees, they buy the products...and the animals...and the feeders. They have high overhead, you pay high prices to cover it. However, factor in shipping costs & that you can inspect the animal first hand, and sometimes its worth it.

A wise man on here once said something to the effect/affect that the going rate for something is all according to how much SOMEone is willing to pay for it...
IMHO, those would be considered typical pet store prices.

I dont know a lot but I do know the baby normal is over priced. I have seen em in Pet smart for about the same price but I went with breeder ( kind of it was a commercial breeder with a pretty decent name) and paid about 80 bucks to have it shipped to me. Came in one day.

Normal baby should only be 20 to 35 bucks is what I have seen them go for. Some people even throw them in for free on special orders and stuff.

Totally agree!

Petstores have a much higher overhead than most breeders. That overhead also has to cover all the deads or doa's that come from the wholesalers. Many wholesalers do not offer healthy live snakes to petstores. Many of the animals are culls, problem feeders and imports.

I know of one petstore that got in some severely kinked corns. The seller/breeder would not refund or exchange for healthy animals. Of course both corns died and the store had to absorb the cost.
