In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ATTENTION ALL REPTILE OWNERS: YOUR PET WILL BE ILLEGAL
due to impending legislation currently proposed in Ohio unless you act now. The clock is ticking... time is running out. You stand to lose your rights as the owner of a harmless pet reptile, beginning with a ban of all snakes. Tomorrow it could be your bearded dragon, iguana, or tortoise.

As of November 2, 2011, there are two separate pieces of possible legislation in Ohio seeking to regulate or ban reptiles as pets.

OH House Bill 352 will ban all snakes.

Governor Kasich's exotic animal work group has proposed legislation which would restrict all species of boa and python.

THE TIME FOR ACTION BY ALL REPTILE OWNERS IS NOW!!! Today they want to ban snakes, tomorrow it could be bearded dragons, iguanas, and tortoises.

Arrowhead Reptile Rescue has posted more detailed information at:

http://arrowheadreptilerescue.org/Web/education/Wildlife/ohreptilelaw.htm#EXOTIC

Write, call, or meet with your Ohio senators and representatives:

Write, call, or meet with Governor Kasich:

Failure to take action by all reptile owners will result in the loss of our rights to keep harmless, safe pet reptiles. Contact elected officials- write, call, email, meet, send pictures of your kids with their family reptile pet, DO ANYTHING! Do nothing and snakes will be banned now, next it could be bearded dragons, iguanas, and tortoises.

Wow Ohio is on a role. First wolves are delisted and set up for hunting season when they're already pretty much near extinction, and now this... They need to get their sh*t together, IMO.

Lol yes. Not very many though but some were rereleased in Ohio and hunters are pissed about it. I forget exactly what's going on in Ohio but I've heard a few things about it.

Thanks for the info! I was aware that there was a healthy population of gray wolves in the far north midwest and several introduced [and harshly persecuted] populations scattered all across the western side of the county too, but I had no idea that they had been introduced into Ohio as well. I guess you learn something new every day. This concludes my derailment of this thread [sorry!].

I'm not %100 sure... but I heard there was some guy over there who had a very large collection of exotics and was constantly being harrassed by authorities about them. Word is he commited suicide, but before doing so he released ALL of his animals into the wild! Poor dude... RIP

Yup that is true actually. Now because of it California is trying to issue a state wide ban for ANY exotics as well. Wolfdog people will be forced to give up their animals and mine (who "look like wolves" by most people) would be in danger for this move as well.

I didn't know that he was being harassed but he released all those animals like you said then killed himself. Authorities came and shot and killed every animal. Even the camels and giraffes who would OBVIOUSLY ravishly attack the feds
