To make a story short in the trading and bartering section i found someone local who was trade a 1.1 pair of granite back retics. The thread was 3 months old and turns out the guy still had 1.0 left and i offered one of my burms to him in trade. After exchanging a few PMs we exchanged number and that is when i stopped hearing back from him. I passed up two other deals because he was local and was much easier, only for him to bail. IDK if anyone has done any other business with him, but i wont ever again. Also he has two accounts, which only raises more questions with me. Here is original thread.

if ur around today call me im home all day and have a few Retics to trade..714-904-6329

i called him twice that day, about 30 minutes after he PMed me and then again 3 hours later. I also texted him a few times. That night i PMed him once again giving him my number and letting him know i was available the next day. i called, texted emailed him twice the next day and havent heard anything at all back from him.

Idk if he is just a big flake or sold the snake or what happened, but either way I would be careful doing business with him, if im local and he is gonna pull something like this who knows what he will do to someone who is out of state and shipping

People flake or back out of deals all the time. Does it make them someone to be cautious of? Sure. But how exactly does that earn him a permanent bad guy thread?

seems someone jump the gun a bit , sure the guy may have wasted ure time , many do , just add him to ure ignore list , doesn't give u a reason for a bad guy listing.

Idk why the prefix ended up as bad guy I clicked on info. I don't believe it deserves a bad guy title, it was supposed to be info I'm sorry for that. I was honestly just trying to let everyone know of a potential flake.

Also his 2 profiles say he is in different cities.. wtf is with that

:iagree:
What if the reason he's not answering is because he had some kind of emergency or something happened to him. You never know.
But even if this guy is just a "big flake", IMO he doesn't deserve abad guy thread for that. At the worst, all this guy did was change his
mind, which he does have a right to do. Just keep in mind that something could have happened that would make him not be able to contact you.

what do u mean 2 profiles?

I understand that something could have happened, but why would he have logged into fauna multiple times after I had pmed and called him. And not taken the 30 seconds to drop me a pm that said "sorry snakes gone or changed my mind" I understand he has the right to change his mind, it would just be nice to not string someone along when you do

Can a mod/admin change the prefix for me? I really don't want this to be a bad guy thread it was a 100% honest mistake

Any and all posts on the BOI that comply with the ToS for the BOI remain here permenantly.

So, no. It's up to you to pay attention to what you are doing. Hopefully, no one will take the thread too seriously seeing as it's unwarranted and somewhat ridiculous.

Maduse's reptiles and A.Bradford are two accounts both under his name, look at the original thread and the name from the PMs. Both list art bradford as name, one locationg is westminister ca and the other location says huntington ca

Yep, it'd be nice. But unless money or animals changed hands sellers are expected to shrug it off. This doesn't belong here, even if it did say info.

As far as profile info, that's something that could have been reported to staff to deal with.

I myself have a second account on here but don't use it.. It's an old account that I no longer have the E-mail address to... I forgot I had one on here because it has been since 2003 since I used that other account. When was his last sign in on the other account? Just curious if he's in the same boat as I am with that.

Just my .02

Well maybe if people at least would take the time and let someone know that hey I changed my mind. I'm sorry did'nt want to waste your time so I'm letting you know. A simple text would have done. So I agree with the poster. If he was not nice enough to let you know than I would not do business with him. I would want someone to treat my time just like theres. Good luck in the future :)

In a perfect world. Maybe.

Fact of the matter is, not everyone does this and, honestly, no one is really required to.

The expression "don't count your chickens until they hatch" comes to mind.

While I have found it to be incredibly irritating to think I have sealed a deal with someone and then suddenly I lose contact with them, I don't really get my knickers in a twist about it. It's business. People change their minds, if you cannot deal with this fact then you should never go into business to begin with.

If Wal-Mart went on a tangent everytime someone brought an item to the register and then decided they did not want it as it was being picked up to be scanned, they would be out of business.

Really, I will even admit to being guilty of not telling someone I wasn't interested after inquiring about an animal and speaking to them via a few e-mails (and I KNOW I aam not the only one). Did that person come running over to the BOI to throw up a Bad Guy Thread? No. Why? Because that is stupid, plain and simple. They go about their business and find someone else interested. There is no reason to take it personally.

That aside, he still has no idea why this person has not contacted him. There could be a reason beyond your or his understanding. People get busy and people have lives. Shocking, I know.

If you think he deserves a Bad Guy Thread then you are certainly someone I would mark on my list not to do business with.

OK Its real simple!! Ever heard of respect ?? You should respect one's time and if you can't do that than you should not be in business!! Simple as that! And no problem I would not do business with you either due to the fact sounds like you don't respect one's time. All he had to do is take 2 seconds out of his day and say hey I changed my mind. I'm sorry Simple

Easy there, killer.

It's a discussion, not a debate.

While I can see where you are coming from, it is not a wholly realistic way of thinking. We are living in an age of impersonal contact. Shooting e-mails or texting people to obtain information is hardly as intimate as personal human contact was once. In some ways, it has become an outdated form of quick communication. So, in that regard, it is easier for someone to not really worry about contacting someone back about a deal, a trade or a sale.

The way I see it is, if someone is contacting me about an animal, or I am contacting them, that is all it is, contact. It means nothing more than that. Even if we talk about pricing, potential shipping dates, etc. etc. all that is is contact. When I get confirmation or give conformation in the form of currency, then I decide that it is a done deal and expect them to hold up on their end of the bargain.

If they flake out on me without me being out money or an animal, so what? It really is not that big of a deal and it is a little naive to think otherwise.

SS4luck.. I'm right here. I think you have blown this up a little bit. I was interested in ur trade however I work full time and Run Our local Reptile rescue. Long story short no hard feelings , You were in a rush and left town. When you return I have no problem meeting up if I haven't traded ..
