    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

As of right now, this one's my favorite

Thanks Steven,

just wait until I can take pics as good as Alberto's........ You'll be even more amazed!

Matt

You both have a ways to go in picture taking though, just look at Ruby! Beautiful! Get to work you two!!!

i find that i get the best pictures usually on a white paper towel back ground with indirect sunlight and use the flash... this might help just a tip. i have a horribly old camera so i have used just about every single way to take pics and this way seems to work best for me

thanks

thanks for the tipi havnt really experimented to much with pictures on them because those were taken the day i got them and i really didnt want to stresst them out any more tha they already were i am still waiting for the oldest one to settle down she still isnt eating good yet the other 3 are starting to eat really well so after they have settled down for about 3-4 weeks i will experiment more with the whole picture thing

I had to jump in here.

How about putting the gecko on a plain white background, like paper towel? That way it shows a true representation of what the animal looks like.

Usually I don't grab a fighting dog by the ears but I felt a certain nessecity after following this thread. I have been preaching this for YEARS! Although I at times got flack for it I still firmly believe in this. Natural sunlight on a plain white background is the way to go. More and more we are seeing this becomming a standard practice when people want to accurately represent their animals. I use a Canon A40. I am not tooting my horn or anything but the pictures I post are MIRROR REPRESENTATIONS OF THE ANIMALS! I actually I feel thats a minimum of what should be expected. Especially when you look at the prices on the animals we are dealing with. That being said. An accurate representation of a animal for sale is not some unattainable goal. My camera was $250 when I purchased it 2 years ago. A common practice a few years back that I was quick to notice was that of using a blue background on orange animals. As many of you know Blue contrasts Orange. In other words it makes the orange stand out more. That being said I think everyone out there can tell when a picture is Crisp clear and the color is accurately represented.
Oh by the way those are some Awesome Looking animals Guys!

I agree with using natural sunlight and white paper towels. Here are some old pictures of Tommy. He's my only tang. I didn't know he was going to turn tang when he was a baby, so I didn't even realize how orange he was until I took these photos.
