Unless there is a Sasquatch look-a-like convention going on nextdoor to the reptile show, spotting her shouldn't be difficult.
You so did NOT go there!

Ok, so it looks like Ashley will be attending the NARBC Show on Saturday, as a spectator NOT a vendor. What exactly do you think should be done? Should we march back and forth outside the convention center chanting and holding signs? Maybe we should forum a human chain at the door to the show when we see Ashley coming so that she cannot get in? Short of doing that (and most likely being arrested for it), I cannot see how anyone, Texas herper or not, can keep anyone else from attending a reptile show.
Here she is talking with "retic breeder" and co-owner of the retic nation, Gavin Bowe. Maybe this is why some of the members of that forum defended her, maybe they have business together....I donno.....She is not on the vendors list for any of the PA shows or the NARBC, but I have seen people sell other people's animals on their table, and sell and trade animals in the parking lot. But like I said, I don't know if she will be vending or if any of her animals will be at these shows.

Agreed.
Look, this is a very real concern, and a few people (mostly one) put a lot of effort into presenting an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence in this thread. So much so that most reasonable people would agree there is a concern, it is real, and it should be addressed.
That having been said there really is not much else you can do short of filing law suits, if you feel you have been injured by her actions. Some people have that case.
However, this thread has taken many bad turns, it now reads more like a personal vendetta against Ashley and anyone who associates with her. A representative sampling of posts could produce threats, insults, profanity, an uncomfirmed PM from her mother that has very little to do with reptiles and nothing at all to do with IBD, several attempts at psychological profiling, attacks on the entire state she happens to live in.
Perhaps that is why some people from other forums have come here, declared this as so much "drama", and not bothered to act on the information with regards to their own forums. I know that if I stumbled across this thread now that is a good possibility for me as well. That I have kept up from the beginning grants me a different perspective.
I am posting this now in hopes that the people who think they are helping Courtney by keeping this topical, and helping the hobby by continuing to expose Ashley will stop and think about how their posts might come over to someone who has not been here from post 1.
Seriously more harm than good will come from those types of posts. Gathering posts made by Ashley and comparing them to show her web of lies...good. Calling out her parenting skills...not helpful.
Advising show promoters of her activities to keep her off the vendor list...good.
Posting pictures of her on milk cartons and doing dna testing on all guests...not helpful.
It is too bad that moderators can not go back and delete any posts that have no business here, that actually detract from the credibility of this thread. Otherwise I think the overall impact will be very little, and the very tone this thread has taken might actually HELP Ashley make a reappearance into the hobby down the road. She can easily point to the pitchforks and torches and say people went off on her, and if they could not find anything then they just made it up.
Anyway, just think about how your post can be read, what it really says, and what impact it might have as a whole before posting. That is all I really want to say...
I disagree that not much can be done. It is still legal to refuse admittance to undesirables... or are you implying that ANYONE that coughs up the admittance fee is welcome?
I do know that this kind of thinking (apparent lack of concern with quality and more concern with quantity) is why many in our community have stopped attending/purchasing at shows. At least, it's one of MY reasons.
Sure it is legal, but is it practical? How many people are going to attend the NARBC on Saturday? How many women? Is is realistic to think that some people working admissions would be able to cross check every woman that roughly fits Ashley's description with a photo?
I know for a solid gold fact that casinos employ tens of thousands of dollars in gear, computers and software to check the faces of everyone who walks through the door and compares it to file photos, using things are are impossible to alter without surgery like space between eyes and noses etc, and undesirables still get in every day. To ask untrained amateurs to stop one person is, I think, not going to be effective.

okay her being at a show is on her. You missed my point that Angel is trying to make it sound like her and Gavin are business partners from a facebook thread. Agel stop bringing innocent peoples name into this because you are an infant who had sand kicked in his face.
I didn't get that from his post. If he'd have whited out Gavin's name and anyone else on the FB post, I wouldn't have cared, and still took from it that she plans on attending.
As far as posting a pic, I think its a good idea, simply because it will help people who ARE aware of this thread keep an eye out at the Texas shows. The promoters and vendors can't watch her the entire time. It would be good if members were there secretly keeping an eye out for any quiet sales that may be attempted.
I would want someone to look out for me if I were inexperienced.
The facts are:
The girl clearly has NO remorse to show up and flaunt her "reptile keeping abilities" in everyone's face after the crap she's pulled. Whether or not anyone wants to admit it, there are problems with her ethics.
Maybe she doesn't have IBD.
That's why I was VERY specific in the title of the thread and the wording in my subsequent posts. "POSSIBLE IBD"
However SHE HAS:
*HAD & SPREAD MITES TO PEOPLE SHE CALLED "FRIENDS"
*LIED ABOUT QUARANTINE
*LIED ABOUT NOT SELLING SNAKES AFTER GETTING AN IBD REPORT
*LIED ABOUT THE CONDITION OF HER SNAKES
*LIED ABOUT THE BREEDING STATUS OF HER SNAKES
*TRIED TO BE "SNEAKY" IN LISTING SNAKES ON NON-REPTILE RELATED SITES WHILE HER "BAD GUY" THREAD AGAINST THE BCL SELLER WAS ONGOING AND SHE WAS BEING QUESTIONED ABOUT SALES
*LIED ABOUT NOT SELLING ANYMORE SNAKES
*LIED ABOUT TESTS SHE'S HAD DONE
annnnd the list goes on..
I would think THOSE things alone would make anyone second guess allowing her into a show, but ultimately it's the promoters decision, and must be respected. However, that doesn't mean some of the attendees couldn't help monitor the situation![]()

it seems it should be as easy as denying entrance no? does the person running this show HAVE to allow everyone in? seems like if its their show they should have the power to accept peoples entrance money or not![]()
I agree with you, Kelli.
As much as I hate the idea of her being there and the potential of her buying animals, it is ultimately the decision of the sellers who their animals go to. Odds are, if anyone showed up their with fliers or tee shirts or something else, they would be seen as drama llamas and little else.
I am by no means condoning selling animals to someone like her, but you cannot force people to stop and, in the eye of the promoter and show owner, it could potentially blow up in their face if there were to sit there and deny someone entrance on something that a lot of people may see as unproven.
Due to the unknowns of IBD, any of this, regardless of the evidence to support it, can be brushed off as indefinites.
We can be much more proactive about getting her out of the hobby than by "protesting" inside of shows.
Just my opinion.
It's the largest show in Texas. Thousands of people come through the door. Numerous people work the entrance tables. Even if someone did hand out flyers with her photo plastered on it, the chances of her being stopped at the door are slim to none.
My personal opinion is that it's not anyone's business whether she attends a show or not; as long as she isn't selling potentially diseased snakes. I am aware that I am probably in the minority in this thread that feels that way, but that's ok, I don't mind.
