In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm not sure why people are pushing the Start A New Thread idea...once upon a time it was clearly stated in the rules that existing threads were to be used whenever possible. I can't seem to locate the rules anymore, so maybe they have gone by the wayside...but it is still common practice to add to what is already here. Besides, when a person starts a new thread after posting in an existing one, somebody usually gives them crap about it. Its here, and there is no reason for her to take her issue elsewhere.

Seventh paragraph under Disclaimer.

Please utilize the SEARCH function as much as possible before starting a new thread (topic line). In many instances, it is much better to continue an existing thread rather than starting a new one in order to preserve continuity in the information about a person or business. Most readers are much more inclined to read a single long thread, rather than dozens of smaller ones scattered all over the BOI. So don't let your message get lost in the clutter by ignoring this simple rule.

gold highlighted, and I went right by it...I'm really starting to think those ticks are eating my brain (not the ones on the aforementioned BPs)

And, Jim, I'm not denying that many people would have just started a new thread - just reinforcing that mommiedawn did nothing wrong by adding to this one...and since it is already here, there is no sense in her starting a new one (good to see you posting again, btw)

Frankly, this is terrible logic:
Most readers are much more inclined to read a single long thread, rather than dozens of smaller ones scattered all over the BOI.

All things are relative, but using even this one thread as an example (and we have much longer bad guy threads available), the use of the word "dozens" is an exaggeration. How many bad guys here have a dozen, or "dozens", of complaints logged anyway ?

Look at what one does just to find out what is going on in this thread. Read the last post, then back 120 posts or so to the first post (a year old), then wade through to find the new complaint ? On the upside for the times when we see a new thread, someone inevitably puts links to other bad guy threads early on (Dennis is king there), should a new reader want to research additional problems. My apologies, as this topic rates further debate elsewhere.

Harald,
I posted without seeing your latest post. I agree 100% that Mommiedawn was fine, and I was actually a bit miffed that she took heat for coming here as she did, although that was then retracted. For what its worth, I believe you are owed restitution Mommiedawn. Its just a shame that once this thread dies again, your complaint will be pretty well hidden for future researchers.

If this is the same issue that was put up on the board a year ago, I have a comment that was accurate then - still accurate today. Flame me if you want (I got flamed last time); but when the facts finally came out a year ago, I was right on the money

Eh, you couldn't take the time to even check to see if the new posts were actually about the previous topic (which they aren't), before blathering on about it, and even after it was repeatedly explained to you that the LAB called "Uncle Sam", not the vet, (you couldn't seem to grasp that), you still insist on saying it was the vet who called them. And the vet was simply doing HER JOB sending the samples in to the lab (but you can't seem to get that either)... you're calling the VET an idiot?

Anyhoo....personally, I like to keep things more tightly together all in one thread when possible....especially when it's someone who seems to have issues over, and over. It's pretty simple to see that it's isn't just one isolated incident, and you don't have to read the whole dang thing if you don't want to....the really long ones I'll just read a post or 2 on each page and go on to the next page if I don't have the time to read it all. :shrug01:

LETS CLEAR SOME THINGS UP THEN I WILL START A NEW THREAD...1) TICKS, MITES AND PARASITES WERE NOT THE BIG ISSUE, DISTURBING THAT SOMEONE WOULD SHIP SOMETHING LIKE THAT BUT NOT THE ISSUE. 2) 1 GRAVID FEMALE DIED WITHIN THE FIRST COUPLE WEEKS 3) ANOTHER DIED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE FIRST 4) ONE IS NOT EVEN GRAVID 5) THE MALE BREEDER WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CBB, A GREAT EATER, AND HEALTHY HE HAD THE MOST TICS MITES AND PARASITES(UNUSUAL FOR SOMEONES HAND RAISED PET) HE ALSO HAD SOME KIND OF SORES ALL OVER HIM.6) THE OTHER GRAVID IS STILL LAYING ON HER EGGS SHE HAD A BAD CASE OF MOUTH ROT IN ADDITION TO EVERYTHING ELSE. FINALLY YOUR RIGHT "Ignorance is no excuse"
ACTUALLY IT IS A PET PI EVE OF MINE THAT I DESPISE. DO NOT JUDGE SOME ONE YOU DO NOT KNOW. I KNEW WHAT TO EXPECT, I DO KNOW A THING OR 2 ABOUT WC ANIMALS AND I WAS NOT TRYING TO " rush things into getting a clutch of eggs." I THOUGHT I WAS PURCHASING A BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY FEMALE GRAVID IS A PLUS BUT NOT THE MAIN REASON. BY THE WAY WITH A DEGREE IN VET SCIENCE I THINK I AM CAPABLE OF TREATING AN ANIMAL WITH TICKS... TOSHAMC I WOULD BET YOU HAVE THE SAME PICS AS I DO. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I HAVE IS DON'T LIE TO ME IF THE SNAKE IS NOT ALL THAT HEALTHY TELL ME. I WILL DEAL WITH IT. IF YOU SELL SOMETHING YOU GUARANTEED OWN UP TO IT. BE HONEST WITH ME AND I WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS...RAVENSGAIT THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING ON MY BEHALF. YOUR SIGNATURE COMMENT IS TRUE "Everybody hates America till they need us to liberate them."

Dawn - yeah - I'm not a stranger to WC animals either - and I can guarantee the amount of ticks on these animals is not a re infestation after having just been treated sometime within the few weeks they were in country. I haven't seen a single tick on them in the two months since I treated them. And lets just say if it were a re infestation - then I wouldn't touch anything animal vegetable or mineral coming from a facility that houses these animals because he's got a serious problem on his hands. And mine had an infected, swollen cloaca which had to be treated as well.

And I agree it's not about the ticks - it's about the misrepresentation. In a nutshell he lied about the treating for parasite, he lied about their health, there is a good chance that he is pulling a bait and switch with his "specials" and he doesn't take good care of his customers when things go wrong.

Wasn't Ron just on KS a few weeks ago complaining about a tick problem with his animals (import and CB)?

I heard of a similar case in madison. Id be willing to bet $$ they will take you off quarentine saying they mites and ticks are from established populations here. The main concern is its not a super bug from africa carrying some kind of contagious disease. My best recommendation is to use provent a mite and reptile relief for the externals.. Its hard to wipe out bugs at one time and im sure ron did de-bug them at one time but you cant kill all the eggs in one cycle. Stick to captive bred, wild caughts require extra care to establish that newer keepers arent always aware of. I know several people that purchased wild caught snakes and I have owned them in the past. Containing and eliminating the bugs is not fun, can be a challenge but is possible. Sorry for not checking my spelling or grammer im just popping in and noticed this thread. Gotta work ;)
