Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Baby Albino Slider, hard to feed

I have a baby Albino slider.( 2 inches) Can't see well OR is blind. Stays on his platform and does not seem to be eating. When I 1st got him I would put him in a small container and feed him in there. He would eat. Now he just freaks out and does not seem to eat. He has friends his age in his enclosure, and likes them.
Anyone have feeding ideas??

What is your tank size, filtration, water temp, basking spot surface temp, type of basking bulb, and how many friends do you have living together?

My first guess is that you have a lighting issue. Albino variants of basking animals can prove to be problematic at times. You may need to have 2 basking spots, a regular one with MVB for the non-albinos and a basking spot using a CHE and 2.0 or 5.0 tube fluorescent (not compact, they can cause eye issues with turtles/torts) for the albino.

Second and third guesses would be that overall temps are low for hatchlings, including water temps, and that the water might not be as over filtered as it needs to be for multiple turtles.
 
Just 2 other young sliders in tank. One fluorescet tube and one basking light in a 20 gal.. Good filtration, but the water is not heated at this time.
I'll try that.
