    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a new baby cresty. I want to make sure I am doing things right. I have it in a small half gallon aquarium. i have moist paper towls as substrate and a piece of aritfical vine. I have also placed two water bottle caps, one with water and one with CGD.

Am I doing anything wrong or is there anything else I need to do. F

BTW from what I can tell he is all very dark with some cream on the tale.

It sounds like you've got a great start for your baby!

Just don't keep it too moist. They can develop respiratory infections, and high moisture will make the food get moldy.

You can keep the food in for 48 hours before you change it. Many cresties really like the food better on the second night..when it's kinda fermented. Remember-in the wild, they eat the fruits that drop off trees, and it's usually really over-ripe and funky.

He might also like to have a spot to hide during the day as he sleeps. You can start with an empty toilet paper roll, or take a small margarine tub and cut a 2 to 3 inch sized half circle door into the rim. That will make him feel safe and secure.

I'd love to see pictures! I can tell you the morph from them, too!

Good luck with your new baby, and welcome to your new addiction!!

Yeah you want it nice and moist at night (around 80% humidity) but then let it dry out during the day.

Congrats and welcome to the addiction!! :)

Thanks for the welcomes everyone...second one hatched today and they look almost identicle. Both are dark red with some ceam on their tails. I will get some pictures posted as soon as I can!

Awww!! New babies don't come out with the true colors, so it'll be fun over the next few months watching them grow and develop their morphs. :) Congrats! And I agree... it sounds like you have them off to a good start!
