    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

baby SIGB's

Thanks everyone! Chris I'll keep you posted on what they eat. They all shed this morning.

Helen, there were 10 total which included; 2 infertile ova, 2 still born, & the 6 pictured.

Thanks Daniel!

* UPDATE *

As of today, 04/16/13, 3 out of 5 babies have eaten small live green tree frogs. I had 6 to begin with, but lost one. I'll most likely have to forcefeed the last two holdouts so that they have ingested something. I guess it could be worse...

Jay

Great that they've started eating for you, hope the more stubborn ones start soon.

How many days after birth did you start to offer food?

Also when you say "lost" one , do you mind sharing details? I'm interested in survival rates of Candioa species in general, since I lost a lot of C. bibroni a couple of years back.

Candoia

* Update *

As of today, 04/24/13, 4 out of 5 have eaten live green tree frogs.

Helen, I'm not 100% sure why I lost the one baby, with them being so small its really hard to say.

I didn't start offering them food until the 10-14 day mark. A few of them would constrict & kill anoles, but the lizards were too big for them to eat. Thge really small anoles aren't running around yet as it is still the dry season here.

Jay

Thanks Jay, all information is a help.

I find my Candoia babies will take larger gecko tails if there aren't enough small whole animals around - just a thought.

Thanks Frank. Right now I'm trying to keep these 5 on frogs consistently, get a shed or two out of them, & graduate them to something non-frog. I do have 3-4 females that bred heavy this year so there should be a big batch -o-babies this fall. Stay tuned!

A belated congratulations!

Hi Jay, just caught up with your thread on your breeding success, and all I can say is awesome! I've been off the forums for quite awhile, but am very happy to hear of your success. Take care! :thumbsup:

CANDOIA

Hey Dave,

Long time no talk! Thanks for the props, it's been a very busy 2 yrs assembling the group of adults. I even have a 5 ft female coming in tomorrow! Have you been able to obtain any? I should have a large number of babies this fall w/ 3 maybe 4 gravid females. Hope alls well out there in WA.

CANDOIA CARINATA PAULSONI

Hey thanks Jim! How are your carinata carinata doing? I'm down to 1.2 & still looking to add a screamer or two to the group. I have my C. bibroni australis & C. aspera together still, but haven't really seen any solid breeding. I can imagine how tiny baby carinata would be!

i was curious if baby ground boas would eat small goldfish or minnows. i have a ribbon snake that i gave 5 small feederfish to and thought he was being stubborn. all 5 fish died then he started eating them. three in the morning one mid day and by the evening he ate the last one. would be curious if ground boas would take an easy meal such as this.

Hey, way to go Jay! How can I take a look at some of the new arrivals? I never managed to start up a group, and not for trying, though I think you tried harder! lol But perhaps you can help me finally get started. What kind of color morphs have you got? I'm going to dig through my email and see if I still have your addy. I'm emailing all the time these days so it might make staying in touch easier. Look forward to hearing from you and seeing what you've managed to put together. Sounds like you've done really good work!
