    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bad experience with Family Reptiles

Arguing and disagreeing is not the same thing. And it may not matter to you, but I'm sure FR feels otherwise. In any case you both could have and dhould have handled it differently. You got quality merchandise out of the deal and are out of pocket no money. FM got a bad review out of the. Congratulations.

I'm over it because when FR didn't help me I went to Zoomed and got the problem fixed so yes FR deserved a bad review. And you were arguing over whether or not it matter how much money I spent.

No need for melodramatics. I did not "argue" about the money you spent. I inquired. I inquired about many things, most of which you avoided. Your side of the story is vaque in my opinion, thus the questions. A perfect example is displayed in the other thread regarding Family Reptiles. Your statement there was "I bought a tank setup and something broke". No need to further elaborate on the misleading nature of that statement as well as your first post here, which is absent of little pesky facts such as your abrupt hang up, email conversations and your facebook campaign. I just think there's a piece of the puzzle missing. Glad you were happy with all your merchandise, minus the two bulbs. Good luck in the future.

Yeah this was back in February I think. But yesterday people started questioning everything. And I no longer have the emails I exchanged with Scott the owner of Family Reptiles.
 
I disagree. And just because something is irrelevant to you, doesn't make it so. I had good reason to ask the questions I asked. That was for Regan's benefit, not mine. Not all were answered. No big deal. I was able to form an opinion based on her answers. Rehan's more recent posts have cast doubt in my mind. Her initial post states "I called Family Reptiles and spoke to someone who wanted my to bend over backwards". The conversation, according to her, didn't have a chance to evolve to that point. The original post made no mention of her hanging up on the owner, no mention of the context of the emails, and no mention of the abrasive fb intrusion. Perhaps she is roght or perhaps she is a problem customer. Short of Family Reptiles weighing in to give their side of the story, we may never know. Just my opinions.

What were your good reasons for asking her to itemize her purchases? Do you have reason to doubt she bought the bulbs from FR? I fail to see how much she spent with the dealer matters when one or two of the items were defective? If it was defective he should replace it or refund the money whether she bought just the bulbs or the entire setup. And that is my opinion.

I "let it go" with my "good luck in the future"comment. But since you chose to comment, you obviously didn't let what happened six months ago stop you from commenting on the other Family Reptiles thread. So once again you have been misleading.

They were asking about Family Reptiles I told them my experience they can form their own opinion. Not only did I tell them that I had a bad experience but I also put in that I bought a snake. Their animals are perfect, customer service is lacking. So if customer service is a huge thing to you then don't go there. If you don't care and just want a healthy animal then good go there.
 
So I gave FR a good review when it comes to the animals. Its just the customer service that sucked.

Steve, my questions early in this thread were "pro Megan". I actually thought her answers would end the thread quickly and on a positive note for her. The money was only one thing of many I inquired about because I wasn't sure how much was spent at that one particular vendor. Three hundred is not chump change and they should have been more receptive, providing she is being 100 percent up front. But in light of her more recent posts, I think there's more to the story than meets the eye. Just my opinion. I've said what I've said and have drawn my own conclusions which probably differ from most here. I would deal with FR before Megan any day of the week. Nuff said.

I have notified Scott of this thread so that he can come and post his side as he sees fit. Hopefully he, or someone from Family Reptiles, can provide transcripts of the emails and what actually transpired. As it was months ago, they may not be able to as well - but I felt they deserved to be able to defend themselves if they see fit. Perhaps they can also shed light on the motivations behind asking you to return the bulb to a local PetCo as well.

Ross, you odviously just wanted to throw a dig in to me here or you sincerely want me to respond further keeping this thread going. So be it. Please quote one "ignorant comment" I've submitted here. Questions that are "irrelevant" to you doesn't make them irrelevant to everyone. But you already knew that. Funny thing is, everyone points to the question about the money spent, which was satisfied with an answer and was done with early in this thread. Others like you keep bringing it up yet ignore everything else. But not for many of my questions, I believe a misleading picture would have remained on this canvas. So let's just summarize, shall we? Megan purchases 300 dollars worth of merchandise from Family Reptiles who she claimed had "great" customer service at the show and stated later on that "Scott and his wife were BEYOND NICE" at the time. Aside from the two bulbs the merchandise is quality. Two days later after that purchase she calls the owner, is admittedly short with him, hangs up on him, corresponds with him on email, then goes after him on facebook while being admittedly "bitter". ALL OF THAT TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. Quite frankly, I give the owner credit for his incredible multi tasking talent. Run a store, email, post on facebook? Again, I think there's alot more to this story than meets the eye.

Wow!! All this over a light bulb :)
So.... Everyone wants to know the truth.
Its real simple. Megan was VERY upset the bulb blew. Its zoomed bulb... All made in china of course. It was not fault to her... And no fault of mine. Because she lives 3 hours from our store, its impossible to just drive to is.
She called and was upset and rude. Sent some very nasty emails as well. Ill admitt that after getting my butt chewed from her over a lightbulb... I was not very eager to go over and beyond with my customer service... But i did remain professional as much as possible.
Now... All i asked was her to ship me the box that the bulb came in... Or the bulb... Or something to return to zoomed so they will replace the bulb. She refused to send back bulb or box... So i cant and wont ship her free bulb.(which will cost me more to ship than its worth) once returned... I would have just sent her check for the cost of the bulb.
I gave her options including switching the bulb out at the next show. I even contacted my zoomed rep who i passed along her info and gave that same info to her.
Now... There was alot said and exchanged... Most not having anything to do with the subject... But thats it.
Maybe if megan was nicer... Could have been different outcome... Yes, i could have been little nicer as well, but its hard when im getting hung up on and insulted.
She has spent last few months slamming me and my business over a lightbulb.
if anyone knows me and my wife, you know how much we love reptiles and people. Out business just completed another year sponersing breast cancer which our store donated $3000 to susan g walk. We sponsor little league teams, children events, usark, and noble causes. I work as a police officer in lakeland and donate alot of time to special city events.
Im sorry megan you felt mistreated, and your still welcome to attend our next show and hang out with out table. maybe next time, things will be different.
