Tosha,
I definitely understand your points.
Ed was pretty vague about things, and all we really know was that he said the package was late & SYR issued a refund. Unless Ed processed the shipment (which could be done, regardless of whether he was the buyer or seller), one would expect that any refund he received SHOULD have come from the seller. Seller refunds buyer, SYR refunds shipper, UPS credits/refunds SYR.
As I said in my previous post - I don't get the bad guy label, as, based on what we have been given, it seems that SYR responded appropriately & in a timely manner.
I just don't agree with the way SYR is automatically separated from UPS by saying
but that's UPS's fault, not SYR's. I know that UPS is the one handling the package (I would expect that the vast majority of us do); and, unless some new evidence comes out

, SYR isn't
doing anything wrong (causing packages to be delayed, or to be refused)...I just happen to feel that by offering "an in with" UPS, their name should be there with the complaint. Think about it for a moment...how many people are stepping in when the report is positive to say, "Well, SYR didn't do it, it was UPS"? If SYR is getting credit for when things go well, they should take the lumps when they don't.
